The newer stuff has a bigger groove, if death metal can have a groove. I don't know what a lot of the albums from he mid nineties, but the oldest albums were more raw I think. But if you want to here the best bass lines get some of the newer stuff.

There's probably at least 2 threads just like this one already......just search for Cannibal Corpse threads.

Get vile, The Bleeding or Gallery.

you want to see CC instrumental at it's best, check out "The Bleeding." personally i think it's the best album, although Barnes has performed better on other ones.

I downloaded this song by cannibal corpse titled "smell your cunt" and was wondering if anyone knew if it was on a album as a unlisted track or something. It sounds like a demo and if it is it must be from the vile cd. I was also on metalblade.com and saw that cannibal corpse was realeasing a box set. Pretty cool i think. It has abunch of videos and unrealesed shit and most important...a guitar pic!!! :uzi: :smash:

i know the guy probably already bought the album but i say live cannibalism.
and for those who care heres some more info on the cannibal corpse box set

Cannibal Corpse and Metal Blade have announced a November release for an as of yet untitled box set. The set will contain 3 CD’s and 1 DVD. One of the CD’s will be Cannibal Corpse’s demo that led to their signing to Metal Blade in 1990. Other CD’s will contain three new cover songs, Created to Kill, which is the ‘Vile’ studio sessions with CC original front man and current Six Feet Under vocalist Chris Barnes, and a collection of their “best tracks” hand selected by Metal Blade founder Brian Slagel. The DID will have the frequently bootlegged May 25, 1993 Moscow show, their first show opening for Dark Angel, and the set they performed at the Metal Blade Records 20th Anniversary Party, excluding two tracks that will be included on the Metal Blade’s 20th anniversary DVD. There will also be 10-15 minutes of behind the scenes material shot when the band was recording ‘Eaten Back to Life’ and ‘Butchered at Birth.’ Also included in the box set will be a poster, 2000 of which will be autographed, a comic book by Vincent Locke, a huge booklet containing many pictures and a history of the band and a Cannibal Corpse guitar pick. More on this as it becomes available.

Ya, in Germany I think it is, they can't play any songs off their first 3 albums or they get fined.

I'm kinda thinking about getting a CC album as well...but the thing is I don't listen to much death metal
'cause I don't like the vocals, but I really like Death. But I'm really a more of a thrasher. Should I buy a CC album...hmmm....I wonder if my dad would even let me get one to begin with, but he let me get Possessed...oh fuck it, I'll watch Ace Ventura again and that will determine whether or not I will get a CC album. Yeah, Jim Carrey asked them to be in that movie, he likes them a lot, pretty cool.

My favorite CC albums would have to be The Bleeding and Gallery Of Suicide.
I hated Snore Obsessed, though. It bored me to tears.

If you're into the song on the movie, it's hammer smashed faced and its off of the Tomb of the Mutilated cd, I'd say that, The Bleeding and Bloodthirst are my favs.

I'd say the Bleeding man, just 'cause I'm not a huge Corpsegrinder fan, and Chris Barnes was at his best on this album. Some really good shit on this. Worth it, but it ain't gonna sound sny thing like Old Man's Child, or even Sepultura all that much. SO you might like it, you might not. I guess what I'm tryng to say is that I have nothing intelligent to add to this discussion.
