Since both got about the same rate, go with the one you think looks better?

I'd take the Kelly. It looks just as badass, and unlike the V, you can sit down with it.

To me I like the look of the Kelly because it is big and menacing(sp), but the RR doesn't look like it would be hard to play since it doesn't have the full "V", but you guys know more then me so I will trust in your decisions. Thanks for helping and I will get the Kelly.

Righty Right, with the RR u cant play sittin, but looks pretty cool though. I would go for the kelly they look pretty nice & I think they are better than RR models...or maybe you can try a Dinky or a soloist

Soloist owns all.....but in this case i'd take the RR.

Are those guitars made in america?

MechanicalRaper
2003-06-17, 14:00
I would think not. The price, pickups, and bridge are all indicative of a Korean line of guitars. Does anyone know for sure?

I'm sure the premium line is....but those prices indicate not.

out of the two choices i would go for the first one because i've played it and it's suprisingly comfortable. But be warned duncan design pickups are totally shit !!!!

This might sound stupid but i personally would get one of those new Kramer's from musicyo.com because they kick ass and are real cheap.

I dis-recomend buying guitars off the internet unless you have played them.

I say go for the RR (Flying-v) , it has more to offer, but it still has the same hardware that the Kelly has and more. True, it is going to be hard to play sitting down, so stand up. :vampire::sickface:

Zuks:
I'd go for the RR, but that is mainly because I allready own a KE3. If I didn't allready have a KE3, I'd probably go for the RR too, but that is because I like the feel of Vs when standing up.

SlayedJesus:
I own a "Korea"-Jackson, a KE3. I think it's great, and except for better pickups and hardware when you get them, I can't see what's better with US-made Jacksons. So I don't see why people don't buy the cheaper guitars and then change pickups and trem. Though, US-made Jacksons are neck-through, so I guess that's a reason in this particular case.

go for the RR3

you can play Vs sitting down- ive seen a pic of kerry king playing his bc rich 1 sitting. he puts his right leg between the two points... i would include the pic but i cant find it :( but it is doable.

in fact, since on the jackson the lower point is shorter than the upper one it should be even eassier- as opposed to the bc rich, on which both points are the same size.

The Kelly looks awesome....Probably a good guitar, it should be cuz its a Jackson

Well, I would have to pick the one where you can sit down and play easily because I rarely ever play standing up even though I have a strap.

2nd one looks better.

the RR has better hardware. And it looks more metal like. The RR has 2 duncan design pickups, the KE3 only has 1. The RR has a liscenced floyd rose trem, the KE3 does not. And i never liked the KE3's look all that much. So in this instance, if your looking for tone, and tremolo do-ability, then get the RR. You won't be dissapointed.

Umm... as taken from the Jackson website: the RR3 has 2 Duncan designed Detonator pickups, and a JT580 LP bridge. The KE3 has exactly the same specs in that regard... there's no difference in hardware between them.

thats prolly right, i was just looking at the specs shown on the musicians friend site that he listed.

the rr looks better, and i might be wrong but isnt it easier to get to higher frets on a v

BLS

Id go with the V, people are saying the kelly looks cooler and its good for sitting down, But if your sitting down by yourself why do looks matter?? The v i think looks better and looks are what counts when your on stage, so unless u sit onstage theres no reason noto get the v. Guess its all personal prefrence though

I'll take the Kelly. And you can't play sit with the V
