im a pretty good guitarist, yet i can also play drums. im for sure better at guitar than drums, yet i can still play them better than meg white!!! anyway, sometimes i think i wanna play drums instead. i get better at thing quite rapidly when i comes to music. all i need is a drum set though. if i decide to play drums, im safe to say guitar is out the window. but still, i want a cheap yet reliable life-time lasting drumset. wuts a brand that is like that? my drummer uses paiste or sumthin like that. they pretty good. but how should i start shopping for drums? gimme tips, cuz i dont wanna fuck it up. and sumtimes dealers lie to get u to buy, so i figured id ask u guys. :)

well i dont know shit about brands, but if i where you i'd start with a basic set.
(dubble)bass, 2 toms, floor tom, snare, ride and hi-hat, its not really expensive but its good to start with.

Tama and Pearl make pretty good drumkits, a good twinpedal is the Iron Cobra.....

ehm, for cymbals, no matter what, you'll destroy them anyway, but istanbuls, sabian and zildjans sound pretty good...

drumworkshop also has good kits, but they're expensive....

if you want a life long lasting kit, you gotta search a long time.. drums wear down pretty fast, if you play them brutally...

If your just starting out and dont have the money for an expensive set and dont care about the name. I would go with Trak drums (by H&K) they're cheap in price but a moderate brand in quality. my band has 2 sets of them, one is a huge 12 peice for stage ($3000) and a little 5 peice for practice ($700).

.....those are canadian prices so its probably half that if your american.

ok guys. im new to drumming, and how exactly do you brak a cymbal, unless your hitting it with all your fukin stength, wich i do anyways, and i havent evaen dented mine yet, and yester day i was at a gig and did 5 hours of drumming just so u all know lol.

try months or years of use and abuse. a 5 hour sessions not gonna do fuck all to a cymbal unless its garbage. itll usually start to crack and then spread.
