It sounds funny on bass (the fast guitar part) but it is very fun to play. It sounds real fast but since every second note is B, with your right hand you can hold down the 4th fret B on your G string and hammer and pull-off the notes with your left. If only I had a 6 string, then I could tune my C string down to B.
Another thing I find fun is to use the technique that guitarists often use where you use both hands to play on the fretboard, using pull offs and hammer ons. I forgot what it's called, but it sounds cool on bass.
By the way I've been wondering if any of you are better for fretting with the pinky rather than the ring finger. For a while my pinky was better, because I had earlier realised it was worse and had practised it alot. Now I'd say they're about equal, there's only one thing I can't do with the pinky. It is when you play a 3-stringed power chord (root, 4th, and root one actave high) using the strings D, A, E. My pinky can get either the fret on the D or the fret on the A, but never both. It is so much easier to do a power chord like that on the G, D, and A strings. Any advice on strengthening(sp?) my pinky so I can cover both strings?
