Most Used Fret/Favourate Fret?

Kind of a weird subject im posting here yes...

But what is your most used fret area do you think?
You pick up the bass and u play what fret mainly..because of a song?
You write a song and the first place your fretting hand leans over?

mine would have to be between fret 5-7-12..

the first five on any of the strings because the tone resonands better there, don't know how to tell it exactly.

for higher stuff, anything around the 12th fret.

For me, it'd have to be 5-9, though I admit, I haven't been playing much lately :(

I'd go for 5-9, too.
The fret-distance isn't that big. You can bend easier than on thr first five frets. Chords sound good. And you still got enough bass.
And on my basses this frets sound better than the others.

ohyeah, that's right, for chords DEFINETLY everything between 5 and 9! everything above and below gets fuzzy... for normal play I do prefer the upper 5 frets though.

Id have to say that chords sound better from the 9th fret to the 14th..u get a cleaner sound..

yeah maybe cleaner, but from the 5th to the 9th fret you still hear that its a bass playing, which is good, above gets muddy and under the 9th fret it gets to bright

but it all depends on what chord sound you like from your bass.

Well, I'm gonna be leaving in April, and I know that for at least 2 or 3 months I won't be able to even touch a guitar or bass...and after months of not being in a band, and my steadily growing lack of patience, I have virtually no motivation to play anymore...

my favorite fret (on my guitar) is high E on 15 to 21 (great for soloingù)
on bass is 5 on the E string

I would say from 1 to 5, I really can't say exactly why, I think that it gives me the impression that I control the whole neck or something :p
