i was wandering which albums everyone considered 'classic albums' the albums that eevry metal fan should own
so maybe i could pickup a few that i dont have
im into death/black stuff mostly but i love any metal :) id appreciate it if people could tell me ther opinion on the best metal albums that everyone should have

Slayer's Seasons in the Abyss and Reign in Blood
Alice in Chains' Facelift (not really METAL metal, more like grunge-metal, but it's a must-have)
Iced Earth's Something Wicked This Way Comes
Pantera's Cowboys from Hell
I hate to say it but Metallica's Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets (yeah I know they're pussies now but that stuff is classic)

I can't really recommend any of the "less mainstream" stuff because I'm just delving into it myself. This'll be an interesting topic, because there are lots of people here who know a lot more about metal bands than I do, and I'd like to see what albums others recommend as essential.

Ones i've marked with * are extremely good.
Those with ** i wouldn't be able to live without. They just continuously blow my mind and amaze me even after listening to them 1000 times.
The others are all really good.....i've just picked a few out of a bunch of cds i own. These albums are mainly the ones i think rule the most.

I doubt that you'll be disapointed. It blew me away first time i heard it, and even now it continues to send chills down my spine. (btw, i bought it about a year ago). It's remained in my cd player for just about a year, hardly ever taken it out.
