I would like to go to this but I'm not willing to pay that much for those bands and I have NEDF in August.

I gave this fest a thread last year and you guys were all, "meh."

anyone else going?

Fuck, I might've actually gone if I knew you dudes were. MDF fucked up my access passes, and wanted me to pay for access to take pictures. I passed on it and saved the money.

FUCK.

I really wanted to see martyr. :bawling:

martyr were great...the sound was really bad imo. defeated sanity stole the show. i know lille from online and got to know the others on the phone while they were touring the eastern coast (friends with another band). super nice guys... they were the best live too. i watched maybe 5 bands and spent the rest of the time chatting with people i met and bands and shopping

Sound as a whole or just for Martyr? I wouldn't doubt the sound being bad considering Sonar isn't the greatest venue, even in downtown Baltimore... Place was a few pegs above "dive" when I saw Cannibal Corpse there.

Holy shit, legendary Mayhem are coming back to North America! After their aborted tour last year I was afraid I would never get to see them. But now, now my friends I’m going to see them at the Maryland Deathfest (May 22-24, 2009). Next year might be the best MDF ever. Along with Mayhem, there will be Immolation, Atheist, regulars Brutal Truth, and Pestilence, plus a generous helping of other talented bands. Tickets go on sale on September 15.
