Excellent album, seriously recommend it. Leaks somewhere online, not to hard to find. A good chunk of the songs sound pretty similar ,but that's cool, because they are awesome songs. Has the tone of the re-done 'First strike still deadly', but has a much deeper punch to it. Many solos between Peterson and Skolnick make it have the old thrash sound, but Chuck's vocals have been a bit refined, and Bostaph adds a new type of drums to the band. All in all a very metal album, thoroughly enjoyable for both old testament fans, and people who want to start listening to testament.
I'd give it a good 9/10 for the guitars alone.

heard one song and thought it sounded like newer trivium (which in turn sounds a hell of a lot like metallica). is the rest of the album like this?

Yeah it's pretty much garbage.

I heard 2 songs and they just really didn't hold my interest. I found myself looking how much time was left in the song. I used to be a pretty big Testament fan too, but not really so much anymore. I'd give the rest of the album a chance though.

come on, are you a complete mental retard? It's rationally impossible to compare work from a thrash legend who are going for more than 20 years to some shitty fuck-band like Trivium (who indeed are a bunch of fucking whores) in any other way than: "Trivium completely ruined the legacy of bands like Testament, Metallica, etc."

thats what i meant to say. trivium suck pretty bad, but what ive heard of their last album it sounds quite similar to this new testament.
