Understand what you're saying and some of these worries are definitely worth worrying about. But I just asked my mom about it and after graduating from University of Pheonix (it wasn't online, but she went into one of the actual schools or whatever when we lived in San Deigo) she got a 10k increase on the spot.

I completely agree with going to an accredited school for somebody who is just coming out of high school who has no experience. But saying that people don't accept the degrees is false. Are you getting the best education for the money? No you probably aren't, and i'd say most of your concerns and critizism are well spoken. Regardless i assess that even if Requiem went to one of those schools with the attitude that hes taken to go TO those schools he wouldn't finish anyways.

so im going to switch my major, two years in, to english. ive done some reading and im interested in some kind of office job such as copy writing or editing. but that work is largely based on prior experience so now im also looking into getting into an internship or some kind of part time job in an environment like that to both build credibility and make sure its something i want to do.

sometimes it feels like all i really know is what i dont like. and it takes a lot of hours of research to really decide on your major and your life plan. but its your FUTURE so i cant think of a better investment.

This is well spoken of somebody who is on the right way towards finding something worthwhile in life. Luckily the bachlors degree is the stepping stone that allows you to get into the world to find out what you may like. Again, just because you have a major in something doesn't mean you're land locked in something that APPLIES TO THAT MAJOR, but then again there are some really good main "easy" ones that people blow off that are arguably better than any other bachlors degree bar none. Also whats cool about most masters programs, is that once you get going in your life and decide what you want to specialize in, MOST graduate programs do not require you to have a bachlors degree in the area of study. The bachlors degree is just a basic, broad knowledge of a set field and its more of a test/weeding out system than anything else.

There are definitely some very hard majors out there, (i'm currently in one and i'm tired of putting up with the shit) but its not THAT difficult to pass college, and those who party too much and don't really give a shit easily fail to get through this four year test.

Look at Xgraf he graduated with a Art degree, that worthless, piece of.. :p Look at him now, hes about to be a naval officer. Hes set for life career wise, (even if he only stays in a few years)

I don't use tablature at all for classical music. Getting good at sight reading isn't really all that hard, it just takes time. The most I do with guitar pro for classical music, is enter it, and just play along to it at different speeds to build technique, but even then, I still look at the sheet music.

I actually think I have guitar pro somewhere on a CD, but if not I'll end up using a torrent.

For the past three days I haven't had access to a computer due to my laptop being fucked. Dell and I both thought it was a fried mother board, so they were going to come to my house and install a new one.(got to love 4 year warranties) So I don't stay home for a couple of days. Decide on Sunday to come home and shower and get ready for another night of drinking at my friend's house. When I arrive home my mother told me my computer was running again.

She started talking about some type of part that goes to the computer but she didn't know what it was called. It didn't have a wire, didn't fit into any of my ports and you could see the chips on the front. I was thinking "wtf?". She told me to look for it in my Targus case and I find a RAM chip and I just replace in the bag, thinking nothing of it being the part she was talking about. Once I saw the RAM it was time to check to see if it was the RAM for my computer. So I look at DirectX Diagnostic Tool to look at my total memory and only see half a gig - rightfully I have 1gig. I have some old desktop RAM laying around the house so I just thought it was put into my bag over the course of time I acquired it but, it was my laptop's RAM. I get a screwdriver, flip my laptop over, remove the screws and look dumbfounded at my empty RAM slot with the chip that belongs in that place in my hand.

I begin to flip out. Why would my RAM be removed? Who would have done this shit? Then I remember that my stepdad was probably pissed when I changed the log-on pass for the Administrator account(which is the only account). Is my stepdad a fucking douche bag or what? He tampers with my laptop that results in a Dell technician coming over in a few days to install a new motherboard.

I'm thinking he got pissed, removed the RAM about a week ago to torture me,(I knew my computer was running fucking slow. I ran all my maintenance programs, anti-virus/spyware, registry cleaner and even defraged but interminably slow it remained.) and now he has found time to put it back in but guess what? When he installs the RAM my computer won't start up! The fucking petulant bastard ruined a good stick of RAM just to get back at me for not letting him look at dildos.(last time he got on I looked in the history and found copious amounts of dildo searching)

Pretty shitty situation. Hopefully the technician can do something to fix my laptop. 1/2 gig of RAM is unbearably slow.

I've been eyeing a not too outragious combo of an Engl e530 preamp combined with the Atomic Reactor 112 50 watts poweramp/cab.

Actualy, I already have ordered both today.
No problems with the AR112, however, when I ordered the e530 from Musik-Produktiv, I recieved the email with the order details, but not the confirmation email (with the payment details..gah!)

It prolly means I have to send an email for the confirmation and payment tommorow, which means it'll take an extra day before I get my gear.

I don't want to wait an extra day to play with my new toys :bawling:

I was hooking up my gt6 to the atomic reactor, and my jack got jammed in the input.

When I removed the jack, the shaft broke and was stuck in the input.
I removed the shaft.. and now the tip of the jack is still stuck.

We had a problem like this at a show with an acoustic guitar. We couldn't get the guitar cord out of the guitar. After like 30 minutes of pulling on it as hard as i could we finally got it out. I'm just thankful it didn't break inside.

whew, I got my amp working! I simply misread the manual a bit, connectionwise.

This thing is great! Even thoug the preamp models on the GT6 are a bit limited and need lot's of tweaking, I never got it to sound this good..
Especialy the clean is orgasmic.. :beer:

thats the thing, you dont. not on covers like that. i saw the gorguts demo go for like 80 or 90 but that had a 'real' cover somewhat pro printed so you cant really bootlegg those as easily.

Motorhead played a free show for SXSW with Napalm Death, Enslaved and High on Fire Yesterday. The show started at noon, but I didn't get to the venue until 12:30. You'd have to do a shit load of modification and wire running through the neck. Probably remove the truss rod and use the gap there. Then you'd need to carve out holes in the neck for the buttons to go.

Nope, it's a real squier. And on top of not having any of the hardware in it, it was also signed by Slipknot a couple years ago, so it isn't much of a loss.

I had a fuckin blast yesterday.

Went to go see Kayo Dot at 3pm. It was interesting because there was a band playing behind them....not even 200 ft away...so there was lots of noise interference. HOWEVER, that show had free beer and hotdogs. 2 kegs were gone in a matter of 30 minutes and then they brought out a lot of canned beer. They eventually ran out so I resorted to buying dollar Newcastles and Zeigen Bocks.

I continued to walk back and forth between venues. I saw this funk band with a blind lead singer who has a fetish for feet called "Foot Patrol" that were really fun. Awesome day......drinkin in the sun for many hours and listening to good tunes.

I thought about getting a mod chip for it, but after researching it, I just hacked my memory card and it play backups just fine :beer:

I could even hack it a bit more, install a custom pc hardrive, fill it up with game iso's and a snes emulator, and use that :D

Its not even adding one extra letter in cases like that, its adding the right letter. I fucking hate that shit. It seems like it'd be more work learning to type and spell it differently, get into the habit of it in casual conversation, then have to revert back to the correct way when writing something formal like a letter or paper.

I didn't write anything, but there is some customising one has to do.
Basicly, using an exploit on older ps2 versions, one can let the thing do anything you want.

Play burned games, use an emulator, install linux, put in a normal or usb harddisk, you just download the files you want, package it so you can use it, put it on your memory card, and you are done :D

Stress can make you do strange things man...even to the point of taking your own life. What to me makes this one of the poorest choices and is the hardest on friends is that within 15-20mins suicidal thoughts are all gone.

My 12th grade year in highschool first semester a kid who laughed harder than all of us, walked in his door one night crying. He walked right into his room and blew his head off with a 12 gauge sawed of shotgun. Very sad, and from the looks of it then and now it was hard on his family.

Psychedelics put you into a very, very vunerable state which is why you should never do them in a party like atmosphere or with people that have been drinking, even if they're conscious that you're tripping and wouldn't normally try to disturb you. My absolute worst experience was an acid trip that eventually got on the wrong track largely due to ignorant (to what tripping is like) friends being drunk.

Sitters are always a good idea, though I also think its important that they for the most part stay out of your way and stick around just in case of an emergency. I get the best results when I trip alone. Though with a friend is always good fun, but its very different.

The kid is no serving 7 years and wont be getting out until 2012.

I don't know why the show didn't get picked up by another network, even Comedy Central would have been better than nothing (and I watch it half the time my TV is on, so it would make things convenient).
