First true metal band
Fear Factory (demanufacture)
cause at that time Metallica were doing their country/hard rock thing. (Load is the biggest piece of shit CD i've ever bought.)
is fear factory really the first true metal band?
what about iron maiden and all the other oldies?

What are you saying is "real" metal? Black Sabbath's first release was in 1970 as far as I know. That gives 22 years for so for the genre to form between FF's first release and Sabbath's.. I would have to go with YOU ARE WRONG SIR.. Napalm Death had a release in 87 and morbid angel had one in 89. And the fact that you're implying that Metallica didn't become metal until AFTER Load is the most disgusting thing i've ever heard.. Load didn't come out until 96.. ALL of Metallica's better albums came out before 91.. I think what you meant to say was.. Fear Factory was the first NU-Metal band.. and in that case you should just die.. okay.. thanks for playing..
sabbath is the first metal band, i think. but im pretty sure that Beethoven was the first head banger. wasnt he the one who headbanged when he played the piano?

That because he was deaf. He started losing his hearing at 28. Anyway, Fear Factory were not the first metal band. They were industrial death. I would say the first metal bans was Black Sabath of something like Blue Oyster Cult, early shit from the 60's and 70's.

I think Dio started his career in the 1850's. By then he was just a young man. He looks like he is about 135 years old. Fear factory had other metal releases before Demanufacture.

Sorry, I meant to say first true metal band I listened to.
As for first true metal band that came to be, it's hard to tell because it was just a steady progression from rock.
