Bodom is one of my favorite bands ever. My favorite CD was the 3rd one. I really don't like Are You Dead Yet? But I think the new CD stands a chance.

Is it just me or is this girl kinda....I dunno out of it. I mean if someone is just getting into Bodom in this era of there music...maybe they also think slipknot is cool, or lamb of god is brutal....

I kinda lost my hopes for Bodom after AYDY, but I must say their new songs are fucking awesome. Banned From Heaven is amazing. I'll wait for the whole CD before I can say they're finally back, but so far it's very promising.

It sucks that this band is now getting the attention they deserve. Are You Dead Yet was a pretty big letdown for the most part, and from what I've heard from the new album, this one will be worse.

Nothing beats Hatebreeder/Follow The Reaper/Hatecrew Death Roll, IMO.

Period. Hatebreeder and Follow the Reaper were fantastic. The Big Four had some shit albums, but it didn't make any of their first three any less amazing ;) Every band can produce consistent albums for only so long.

It's too bad they don't make Adult-sized hamster mazes, you'd have fucking a ball seeing as you're so easily entertained.

Timedragon pretty much hit the nail on the head. Blackened power metal sounds correct when describing CoB's Follow the Reaper days. There's obvious Iron Maiden influence(power metal), and the black metal vocals(black metal), so you end up with Blackened Power Metal. Mainstream term or not, that still best describes them in my opinion.

oh yes, opeth, in flames, dark tarnquillity are from sweden...well i dont like them much..but some stuff are good.. and COB are from finland.. i like their earlier stuff, really good..

YEah, I found it weird, too. Usually if someone posts a MySpace link to a band, the band is either local or unsigned.

People are just ignorant, but are unaware of it, I guess. Couple people at my work don't even know who Iron Maiden is.

Oh, so much we can teach these children.

As for COB, I'm kinda meh when it comes to them. Heard a few songs, but was never tempted to buy an album. Maybe someday. Right now, I still need blank cd's to restore my cd collection because some nigger/spic/racial-confused honky stole my cds.

i dont really know.... i have seen them live here in the UK and was not really impressed by alexi's attitude, for the most part their songs seem disgustingly cheesy, easy to listen to and predictable, this is perhaps why they seem to appeal MOSTLY to people who "think" they are into death metal when they first start listening to metal, i know alot of very knowledgeble people like them for their musicianship etc, plenty of real death metallers like them too but the fact that a load of scene kids like them....

on the other hand though, some of their songs just give me that "YESSSS :uzi: :uzi: :uzi: " feeling.

i remember one funny thing with children of bodom. It was a couple of years ago when i tried to get one of my friends to listen to metal just because she didnt knew anything about that kind of music. She saw a picture of alexi in one of the cd booklets and went just " Oh I have to hear this!" And after that she went just crazy about COB. it was just alexi this, and alexi that, and how hot he was and so on.. i tried to get her into some other bands after that because i didnt want her to get "blind" from other metal..i remeber i tried with motorhead, but it didnt worked..I guess Lemmy wasnt hot enough.. ;)

yeah, wtf is it with girls and alexi? isn;t he about 5 feet tall anyway?

personally, i dont like motorhead either. so i hope that wasnt the only other band you showed her. should have been other melodic death. but well, her case was probably hopless anyway because it WAS alexi's looks that caught her interest. and that does sound pretty irritating, i'll agree.

no, i showed her like 20 other bands, and yes some of them was melodic death, but when it came to motorhead it was just funny..and the same with W.A.S.P, but its a fact that Blackie is ugly as hell haha!

Maybe she should have just listen without taking a look at the band photos.. but anyway, it was damned from the start..

my friend travelled to watch CoB, the other day. after the show he was the only one that went out back and saw alexi and janne walking to the bus. he asked them to sign his booklet. they just looked at him, kept walking and got on the bus. they didn't have time for ONE fan. to make it worse, there was a jackass body guard that chimed in with "alright, you tried. now get the fuck out of here".

fuck this band.
