I'm trying to tab Mors Principium Est - Terminal Liberation and I'm quite confused with the tuning. It seems to me like it's E standard almost all of the song, and the riffing really seems to "hug" the low E quite a bit. Yet during the chorus it abruptly changes to a low D. I'm confused :p , how do they do that live? Judging from the band pictures they use 6 strings as well.

Is it possible that the song is D standard or drop-D then? It seems kind of awkward to play that way...

The song is here: http://youtube.com/watch?v=lPeElb27tj4

The first chorus is at 1:14. The chorus comes in again with the same change to D towards the end at around 3:13, then moves up to E and fades out.

My tab is attached:

BAH, "Don't post about tabs here"... Although, I'm not exactly requesting a tab. It's more a question about the tuning in a song. I'm sorry if this is in the wrong place.

Maybe they're using and removing a Capo?

Could be an EVH D-tuna.

You can go to Drop-D on the fly with that thing. The bass could do the same with a hipshot as well.

Or it could be one of those modified Les Pauls. The guy in the Tea Party uses it. It has a computer built into it so with the switch of a button it can change tunnings with the press of a button. I think it can hold about 100 different tunnings. Pretty neat but pretty damn expensive too.

Hmm, it just seems so odd. I don't think any of their other songs do this. Maybe it is D or drop-d and their is just a lot of string skipping... I guess I'll just tab it in drop-d tuning.
