How many of you are going to Wacken this year? and how?
First three bands are Stratovarius, Iced Earth (!) and Gamma Ray.

I would die to go to Wacken some day, It is like the perfect line up of bands every single year, nearlly every single band im into play there. Me and my mate have made a pact to fly up to germany from oz and go to it when we are a bit older and richer ;)
Iced Earth and Stratovarius would go off live!!! I havent heard any gamma ray tho so i have no idea about em

@ sanderinos: depends where you wanna go, the camping ground, or the festival area?
the camping ground: i kinda believe it opens when the guard guys feel like opening it :) sometimes the officials say: "we'll open it wednesday, 16pm" so we drive there wednesday morning and arrive at 16pm but the camping area is already heavily crowded and some1 tells us "it opened at 8am". this is kinda gambling, but waiting in a huge care queue in Wacken if you arrive too early is sure fun ;)

festival area: i think you are allowed there earlier than thursday, but anyways i never set a foot there before thursday afternoon. too much to do on the camp site...er like tents..beer..err..beer and some more beer :)
well you have to change your ticket for the festival ribbon there and then thursday 16 or 17 pm it starts with the thursday lineup, so you are allowed somewhat round 14pm to enter the main festival area. i noticed that they will open a small bureau/museum thingie in wacken itself and that you'll be able to get your ribbons and info there too, the small box on the festival area where you usually get your ribbons is stuff overcrowded ;)

@sanderinos: those wrist ribbon thingies u get on festivals..at least at every german festival i've been to. you have to exchange your ticket for that ribbon and then u're allowed to enter the festival area.
and i think wednesday is the best day to arrive. you can get one of the camp sites not like 30mins away from the festival area and u have all time to get up your tent and get drunk already ;)

hehe and actually i don't like animated avatars too much, but that 'mighty-viking-metal-worm' is jus too cool ;)

Holy Shit, the festival really kicked some major ass, had the time of my life, although i had some trouble with the fact that showerpoints and waterpoints where hard to find because there where only 2 point so far i know. (which i think should be way more for the amount of people that showed up)

The bands who came on the festival where all very good, I had a great time during the performance of Thyrfing, Ancient Rites, Dark Funeral, Carpathian Forest, and so on. Next year i will defenatly go again, You can already see some pics on the site of wacken (just click here) (http://www.wacken.com)

I just hope one thing, that next time the wacken people will put us next to better and more intelligent people than the people who where standing next to us this year, those bastards lighted an complete couch on fire, and then putted on everything they could find and that small fire turned out into a huge fucking fire with smoke coming off, holy shit... ... was glad the fire brigade came to put out the fire.. Stupid Timmay's!!!!!

yeah, wacken did rule this year, for me Nile pissed on everyone, they were really on form. Dismember also put on excellent show, I expected more of slayer though.....
