Not to piss on your parade, but there's an issue with this idea:

What happens if said tree dies or gets chopped down etc.? Whoever has been nominated to look after it (loved one), is going to be in quite a situation- do they dig up your body and have it re-planted, or do they leave it there with a dead tree?

Just a practical issue, because it could be quite upsetting for the people left behind. Granted it's only an idea though :)

Otherwise somewhere like English churchyards, even if I'm atheist they're nice places, with very few people, quite and where you are still buried into earth, with a stone grave upon you. yeah i see your point. glad you brought it up. i would like to be planted in the alps (well it wont be a peach tree if it is in the alps lol, so a different kind of tree) or somewhere equally safe and beautiful where trees dont get chopped down and if the tree dies, then the tree dies. i will be in every branch and every leaf, of course i am going to explain all this to those left behind before i go, trees die. everything dies, thats the cycle.

the other alternative i was thinking was just having my ashes spread over a seed in a pot for a bonsai tree.

I had a couple opportunities to take my a friend of mine's ashes. I have not yet done so because I don't know what the hell to do with them. I was thinking about spreading or burying them in the area of these local woods where we had a homemade boxing ring, but ever since Hurricane Juan in 2003, the area is quite visible..hence no crazy parties like the one I want to throw.

Organs donated if possible and then cremated. Plot at the cemetery already, but if I'm still living in this house I'd like some of my ashed left here and some left at the cemetery down the road from me.

I do want a headstone for various reasons. I may design my own someday if I can afford it. I may make my own urn, too.
