There are some websites that never seem to have updates and it's annoying.

IE: the Morbid Angel Website. They only had 8 postings for all of 2006 and none so far this year.

Do you guys have any sites that you wish were more up to date?

I mean, it's their living for crying out loud. At least keep the fans updated!

i noticed that some of the content on the hate eternal website (http://hateeternal.com) is pretty outdated. he (assuming it's rutan) updates the news but the discography only shows "conquering"

I suppose the point could be to list webpages of bands who don't update their sites.
I mean, if they aren't on tour and they have a webmaster, and they make money off fans, why can't they keep up their info on the web?

I mean, all you need is one song per month and over a year you got 12 songs to record an album. What do they do with all their time when they're not touring? They can at least keep their sites up to date.

It's like the fan connection is lost since you don't know what they're up to.

People have real lives, not just music. Most people in metal have other jobs as well because hteir music doesn't pay the bills.

Yeah, they do have real lives so why not set it aside and do the fans, who buy the albums, the decency of keeping updated band info on the webpages?

Yeah, but I'm talking about the bigger bands, like Morbid Angel status. I doubt you'll find Pete Sandoval flipping burgers at 200 BPM (burgers per minute) at your local burger joint.

You have a life, so do I. Yet, for some reason, we both find some time to write in a forum and browse other threads and webpages. It doesn't take long. Having a real life means that you have real responsibility. Responsibility to family, friends, and fans, goes hand in hand.

Explain to me why Trey set up a myspace account and added all these updates and has only provided limited access to his page? So, why not devote some of that time to the official band webpage? Also, Trey playing vids and design game maps sounds like a hobby, not responsibility.

Well, the attitude that fans aren't everything is a harmful one. The fans are the reason why they have their current lifestyle and why they have a webpage in the first place, and why their 'famous'. Perhaps they don't care anymore about it and they are relying on the success of the past.

What if they don't have anything important to say? "Yay I wrote a new riff for my song". Would that make you happier? Not updating their site doesn't mean they're not doing anything. When they have something important to say, they'll say it.

That page has nothing to do with Morbid Angel and it is an escape from his music.

And Trey has stated in multiple occasions he doesn't give to fucks about other death metal bands or the people who listen to his music. His appreciation goes about as far as he likes the attention from the confused little girls who's daddy didn't show them enough love, so he gets to take advantage of that, if Trey is even into the gina, I am betting he's more of a cock and balls type of guy.

If a site doesn't do any updates, then it is 'dead'. You will stop frequenting the site since there is nothing updated. Why come back to a site if nothing has changed?

I'm suprised that you guys are taking the bands side on this. I'm sure you appreciate websites that always are updating and have news and tidbits going on. It doesn't take much effort to inform the fans.
