i'm wondering what models of jackson's people favor. I'm not looking to spend more then $600, and want the option of trading out pickups.

I prefer the Kelly, Kelly Star (no longer made), Warrior, Rhoads, and Dinky.

all jacksons are really great guitars ... but this depends on what type of music you play ... most people prefer soloists , warriors and the V's

I've only played the USA Jacksons but the King V's and Rhoads are great metal guitars.

The DXMG is the Best...well that is through my opinion

I have a Soloist SL1(late 80's model) and a RR3 both USA made. Picked em' off ebay for a great $$$$. If you want a quality Jackson get a USA Soloist SL1. Its a great guitar overall. its a neck through body, i got DiMarzio pups in mine. Floyd Rose Pro(my addition). Its a classic Metal axe. I'm Fender / Jackson anyways! I might be one of the few people thats happy with the Fender/Jackson merger.

i would have to agree... i played this guitar at guitar center and have never played a guitar with a smoother feel in the neck. it was pure bliss.

Make sure you get a pretty expensive jackson, because ive played some of them and I think that they sound pretty shitty, but there was a couple that were pretty nice that ive pl;ayed but dont remeber but they werent cheap.

Yeah dude, the "King-V" is pretty good, or you can get the RR-3 which is $559 though but its supposed to be good. DKMG's I think are good too but i can't really remember. Hail!!!

The dk27 is ok but the king V is much better, I played the dk27 once it was pretty good i guess.

You will never find a guitar neck more comfortable than those found on any Jackson Guitars... I play a Jackson Warrior WRMG and I just fuckin' love it. Incredibly comfortable, and killer tone. I suggest you go for a WRXT if you like the Warrior shape, because it's not very expensive and you can always change the pickups :)

I also suggest you check out the Jackson Charvel Forum (http://www.jcfonline.com) with whatever questions you have on Jacksons because the people there are really experienced and helpful. :)

i've got a jackson DKMG, sweet like hell, i love it. I've also got a Jackson Dragon (not made anymore, but some of you might know what it looks like, kinda like the DXMG with seymour duncans). But i'm thinking of buying a king V, but i can't find it anywhere.

I got a Rhoades Performer. I paid under 600 for it and I did throw some EMG's in it. It's got a nice long nech. I've had it for quite awhile now and never had anything go wrong with it. (That wasn't my fault)

how thin are the necks on a Jackson? Ive been having problems with my maverick guitar (similar neck profile to ibanez 570- VERY VERY thin) in that it is too thin and after prolonged periods of playing it gets painful. Ive tested out stratocasters in shops and they have good necks for blues lead and chord work it seems, and gibsons are just way to fat. Anyway, how would you guys describe the neck of jackson guitars, despite the fact that i really should try them out for myself.

I tried that guitar out......ITS fuckin Awesome!
I love the neck and the sound is so great! None of that buzzing noise like my
stupid custom Ibanez GSA60 with SD JB hB's does.....I hate my Ibanez
