Has anyone been watching the video journals of Behemoths studio progress on their new album? It sounds bad ass. The videos are on their myspace page Behmoth video journal (http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendID=71317847&blogID=251995617&MyToken=1452cbbf-0a13-46fc-8c91-4004d8976be5)

I absolutely do NOT like the direction they're taking now, forcing in all the Egyptian crap.
I hold Zos Kia Cultus (and fùck the apes that write it CVLTVS) in high regard, it ís quite a masterful album, but Demigod, uagh...

It's chaotic in a bad way, way too 'lookhowextremewecango' and plain boring actually.

That is, it is to me.

Satanica and Thelema were Behemoth's best albums I think, Zos Kia Cultus was when their Morbid Angel started kicking into high gear and after that... ugh.

Demigod is one of the best death metal records of recent time so I'm really looking forward to where Nergal & Co are going to take this one. I've read an interview where Nergal has stated that they've outdone "Slaves Shall Serve" in the intensity stakes on this album; to quote a good man, looks fun.

Behemoth have shown shitloads of MA influence ever since Satanica, MA influence on ZKC is nothing new at all. And how is that a bad thing? After all 98% of all the decent death metal bands these days take after what MA were doing 15 years ago.

Zos Kia Cultus and Thelema.6 were the best they've put out imo, but Satanica had some very memorable songs. They're apparently going to re-record a song from it for the new album(Chant for Eschaton), and boy does it sound awesome as it is.

Demigod is by no means a bad album at all. It just lacks a step forward in imagination like all the 3 previous albums had. It was essentially ZKC on steroids, played faster. Thankfully this new one sounds nothing like it and I'm extremely looking forward to it.

Yeah Soeru I kinda typed that post too quick. I meant to say "Zos Kia Cultus was when their Morbid Angel fetish started kicking into high gear." Still, I used to listen to tons of Behemoth regardless [their BM days and now], though not a fan of ZKC or Demigod, this new Behemoth seems real fresh and different, kinda like why I liked Satanica so much.
Transient don't tell me you don't like the new Immolation?!

Haha I agree, I've only heard the promo with the shitty sound quality but the new Immo is not as good as I was expecting unfortunately. They've still got it that's for sure, but I was expecting to be blown away.

I still think Pandemonic Incantations is their best.

If Inferno is going to play drums like he did on last Azarath, I'm buying it.
Cool thing is that Leszek Możdżer is playing with them. That guy is amaizng jazz talent, I just can't wait.

I have nothing to add to this thread, except that I saw Behemoth again on Friday night.

Man, they never fucking fail to impress live. Probably one of my alltime favorite live acts after GWAR and Corpse.

Seen them 3 times and they just keep getting better. I exchanged a few words with Nergal and Inferno, really cool dudes, Inferno is a nutty mofo!
