Greetings, those who are reading this...

The past couple months I've been having some real motivational troubles and stuff like that. When I first started playing, it was all about Metallica, Pantera, and Black Sabbath as far as my styles and influences...as most of you know, that stuff doesn't really present complicated passages usually. But now, with listening to different things, particularly Morbid Angel, with a touch of Dimmu Borgir, I've been wanting to play those types of things, adding a really dark and brutal, but also possibly melodic and classical aspect to my playing.
That's where the problem comes in.
I can't find a classical guitar teacher anywhere that would be practical for me to get to, and I'm playing less and less and just getting irritated with my playing.

I'm asking for this: Modes, Scales, Techniques, URLs, Exercises, anything that might help me work on what I mentioned above. I'm no theoretical genius, but I'm not an idiot, so I can understand theory and things of that nature...

One more thing, I'll be wanting input for lead and/or rhythm playing, so anything anyone can throw at me will be greatly appreciated.

(sidenote to the Daemons here: please keep this thread bullshit-proof for me. Thanks)

just learn to pick a single note real fast, then learn to play
any scale, any scale....it sucks for me because whenever
i write a song out, it turns out like pretty or something, like
something van halen or dio would do...except one, its pretty
much minor, with kinda major rythms and solos, its good, but its
on midi, so it sounds gay.

ok, as soon as my scanner starts to work, i will post around 15 differnt scales, 3 modes, 6 sweep patterns and techniques, and fret board diagrams showing patterns on how to easy remeber where all the notes are. give me about 2 days for my friend to come over and fix it.

I was working on Paganini's 5th Caprice a little yesterday and realized it's very hard to stay motivated when I'm just reading something off of a piece of paper...anyone else have that problem?

I do. Which is the reason i know barely nothing about guitar theory.
