esp = Crap
get something worth your Money and time, like a Jackson.
its a matter of personal taste I guess, I like some ESP's, the slayer signature series has a kahler tremolo and emg's.
expensive though, but it's a pretty good guitar
I like the B series bass guitars though the LTd's are crappy, the american esp's are pretty darn good and the level of manufacturing is verry high on the american esp's
the originals are really expensive,
that's why someone could prefer Jackson, cheaper, but with the EMG's and floyd rose tremolo's etc. the Jackson dinky's are nice and so are the RR models.
actually there are so much cheaper guitar brands then ESP that deliver a sortwise qualtiy, though I think ESP's are special, but it does make them expensive.
If you doubt between an LTD and a Jackson, go for the Jackson, LTD's arent as good as the ESP's from america.

dude i have an espex50 that i payed $350 canadian for,in my price range it was a good buy,ive also just added an emg8100 pickup in the bridge,i coudnt afford to pay the $500 for a used jackson, :uzi:
If you like it, then its good.
i ve played my fair share of ltd's and everyone i ve played kind of sucks, mainly because they have a pretty crappy build quality, feel horrible and the necks are always to fucking fat. Although i did play a ltd m202 which wasnt to bad, its basicly a jackson dkmg but crappyier. Anyways there not worth the money, just get an ibanez. Much better :D

I highly doubt you even played an ESP
He must be thinking of LTD
Im sure of it.
Even though the higher end LTD's arent that bad. At;least they have floyds that arent made out of pot metal.

i agree it's a matter of taste, i'm not a big fan of esps i almost bought one (the les paul copy) then i decided on my schecter instead. esp's aren't bad but it just didn't give me that "yeah this feels like a part of me" feeling

NICE!!! That was before Gibson threatend them.
i have 2 V350 LTDs, black, with set necks and floyds, dunno if theyre originals tho, probably not koz i have have trouble with the strings slipping out of the blocks on ultra stupid whammy abuse. i got them half price, the only reason i got 2.
V350 #1- slightly lighter feel than #2, headstock slightly smaller than a standard ESP pointed headstock, and seems to like light strings and tunings compared to #2, the higher registers -above 12th fret high E just cannot be intonated properly because of a warped neck. small frets are annoying to play at speed, rg. slayer and other shredding shit. C# sharp tuning with 52-11s. EMG 89s with PA2 preamp. standard EMG passives are shit. sounds good tho for slayer like musik.
V350 #2- heavier than #1, feels like an Explorer, correct shape headstock. due to slightly warped neck around frets 1-5 and strings 6-3 i use heavier strings, and it also seems to sound better the lower it is tuned, intonation is basically correct because i use heavier strings. again, the frets are small and annoying to play high up, but this is a really good rhythm guitar. A tuning with 70-13s, EMG 89s.
i also tried to file down some frets but they only helped a little and nothing can make up for a shit neck.
conclusion, LTD range have poor quality control and manufacturing is average, hence the difference between 2 guitars which are supposed to be the same.
so, i will not be buying any ESP LTDs again, even if theyre at half price.

i got an esp ltd m-1000. it's definitely not crap, but i'm not exactly WILD about it either. it has nice sustain, great look, nice neck, floyd seems pretty solid (i don't have much experience though), but the emg 81s just don't sound that great to me. just a taste issue though. overall it's nice just the tone is a little thin and trebly for me.
Get different pickups then.

Wow, somone has a sense of TONE
Check out the Seymour Duncan JB, its a nice warm pickup.. not the most high gain pickup but leave that to your amp :D
