Good eve'.

I started screaming/growling about 4 or 5 months ago, and my progress has been noticable and satisfactory, but there's one thing that bugs me.

I can't seem to scream at will...it's like, sometimes it's there, sometimes it's not. It's also fairly quiet - at or below speech level.

When I watch bands play live, their singer can scream for a whole set and only drink water every now and then, no milk or anything to thicken the mucus in the throat, so there must be some way or some exercise I could practice to ensure that I can scream whenever I want to and not have to like eat a yoghurt or something.

Danke.

Someone has discovered the Whispering Scream! Could be teh next big br000tal (I'm learning) thing in metal. Or, perhaps, manga action cartoons.

You're probably not using your support - or whatever it's called in English - properly. Breathe in below the diaphragm. Push the air out by pressing it upwards, not inwards, with every available muscle. Get a teacher.

Fuck that. (teacher) It takes time. LOTS of time. Listen your bands that you somewhat to emulate in your car while driving, and start pushing your vocals to match theirs.

I've been "progressing" my metal "scream/raspy voice" for nearly 2.5 years now. It has taken a long ass time, and i still got a ways to go.

What was that? Must have been the squeakings of a throat singer...
