I would also like to know how to do this. I can do grunts and growls. And even high pitched screaming comparable to strapping young lad or the like...but regardless what I try, I can't get that "thin" high voice that black metal uses. Tips please?
guess they dont leik us huh?
i try to listen and figure out the technique but i just cant

It's definately something I need pointers on. It's not like you can just let out a shrill yell and sound like that. It takes technique. But I guess no one knows said technique eh? :P

Well my bandmate rémy (think he's registered here) can do reasonable black metal screams. What he does (and I sometimes copy :p ) is you scream as high and loud as you can, and then try to add in that little bit of agony if it doesn't come automatically. Sorry for the little info, it's just hard to explain like most metal vocals.

annother thing would be to just go some where quiet and scream as loud and as hi as :guitar: u can and it works then just try to do words and work from there

I cant explain how, I just do an ordinary mid range death metal growl, but higher and with my mouth open pretty wide, sort of like grinning. I sound more like Jeff Walker of Carcass though, or the guy from Exhumed, but Im sure you can make it more black metallish
