does jackson make any guitars with a whammy bar?
Yes. Most Jacksons come with a Floyd Rose bridge...which has a whammy bar.
The Soloist being one of the more popular models has this.

Some are without whammy bars. Like the DMKG, i donīt if this is sold in the USA or Canada. I think itīs just a series for the europeans.

I Have a USA soloist from 1986 (with a Kahler Bridge) and i absolutely love it! i found it a small guitar shop for 750. The only thing wrong with it is that the fingerboard has a few small cracks in it. best guitar i've ever played.
anyway back to the question, i've played both the RR and the KV and wasn't all that impressed. I guess maybe i'm spoiled. :D if you do get i hope you realize that your days of sittin down and playing are over.
I bought a PS-4 in 94 and thought it was the greatest thing in the world. I immediately installed EMGs in it, searching for the Slayer's Divine Intervention tone. Anyway It played pretty damn well and took a lot of beating. I ended up smashing it in my practice space while restringing it. I got so fustrated with the tremolo not cooperating, and realized afterwards that I had my tuner set up wrong, ugh! The axe was developing intonation problems anyways. I got depressed and found a mid-80's BC Rich Gunslinger with a terrible paint job and a factory f-up on one of the fret dots. Bought it cheap, stripped the paint (which was such a pain in the ass), and popped an 81 in the bridge. This guitar kills the Jackson's playability, hands down. The only thing I miss is the 24 fret feeling the Jackson had, but I'm getting used to the 22. In my opinion, the USA Jackson stuff is ok but the asian stuff is firewood. The older USA BC Rich stuff is great. I can post links to pics of the gunslinger by req, it looks killer.

I have a Usa Kelly in Trans Black....it RULES!!!!!! Fast, comfy neck, Floyd, Seymour Duncan pickups(although I question a JB in a Alder guitar...I am thinking of putting in a L-500XL. )
Best guitar I have ever owned..hands down!
The best prices for USA models are at www.onlinestagegear.com
You can get a soloist for under $1500
I just played a RR1 at Guitar center today...OMFG I'm about to nut my pants just thinking about it.

i have a jackson soloist except its an older version of the soloist. its a 1988 model, and it doesnt have a floyd rose bridge but it does have a whammy bar. its still pretty cool, and badass and plays good though.

This is nothing but good news for the company and the guitars.
The employees will get better benefits, and one of the best guitar makers around, Mike Shannon will be heading up the Custom shop. Shannon used to work for jackson but then moved to fender, so he'll be back.

As long as Fender does not change a thing, things are good.
If they get greedy and screw the quality up like the did for their own crap guitars..the pre fender guitars are going ot be worth more.
I wish that Jackson was self owned..no other large greedy corporation to oversee it.

What the fuck is with people bringing up 3-4 year old threads lately?
I have a JS30 Kelly, not all that great really, but I'm changing the pickups in a few days, as well as all the electronics and the tuners to Gotoh 18:1 locking tuners. Needs nut adjustment and perhaps a pro setup, then it will shred like a mofo.
I also just bought a DXMG, getting it tommorow. Has an original Floyd and I got it for 300$! I also have another X2N/PAF Pro set ready to install on it too, and I know a dude who wants the stock EMG-Hz's for 100$, poor bastard.
