Try searching in the older threads on the guitar forum....there's been a lot of talk about people wanting new guitars, and some of that was about jacksons.

Don't go crazy on pedals unless you want to sound like some techno freak. You really don't even need a pedal unless your amp distortion sucks ass. (my amp rocks, so i don't have a distortion pedal....i have a wah, which i used i think twice in 1+ years)

My suggestion for Jackson is a soloist. That's cause i love that guitar. The shape, style, look.....everything about it. They feel so good too. Also Hanneman plays them. :)

i have 1,700 dollars saved towards the soloist 1. I played it last year and loved it. Now i have a Jackson RR-IT guitar...it sounds just the same as if u put a screamin demon seymor duncan humbucker on a nj series warlock (i have that too). A lot of people dont like jacksons necks because they are pretty damn wide, but i personally prefer the wider necks for sweep picking. And also, if u end up getting a jackson, make sure you go all out and get at least an Original Floyd Rose bridge..(dont get the Licensed Floyd Rose cause its just gonna end up haveing shitty sustain....like a warlock). On a scale of 1-10 on how much i recomened a GOOD Jackson Soloist 1...i'll give it a 9. The reason i said "GOOD" was because if you buy the soloist at a guitar shop (or at least around here) they'll put shitty pickups on it and a shitty licensed floyd rose bridge and sell it for the same price:mad: so u gotta know what your looking for. GOOD LUCK:beer:

Id suggest a Jackson RR, they are THE shit. Good tone, good look, good feel. everything you need. For pedals, I would say get a good distortion pedal to push it even further than your amp alone. and I would say no more than that unless you want a Wah or something, but the more pedals you hook up the more your guitar signal has to go through, wich after a while takes its toll on your tone! :beer2:
