View Full Version : See You Next Tuesday
Anyone here into this band? I've heard a few people around here mention them but that's it. They're your basic spastic grindcore/death metal band. Just think of the Dillinger Escape Plan and Pig Destroyer having a baby, that baby would be See You Next Tuesday. They're from my home town and I've seen them live many times, they're one of the only grindcore bands around here and seeing them again July 7th at sweatfest, it's gonna be sweet. Discuss the band.

Never heard the band so i dont know what they are like but....
Thats a gay fucking metal-core style name
actaully, FUCK the word metal-core, if it remotely resembled "Metal" they would call their shitty music Metal. But since it doesnt, i'm just calling it "-Core" from now on.
Well, that was a dumb response. Try not to go off on stupid tangents like that in the future. It might prove to be hard, but try hard and you should make some progress.
Not heard of them. The name sounds like a reference to Landis movies, though there it's alway 'wednesday' in reference to 2001, so I'm not sure what to say about it. Sounds more like par for the 'in the vein of DEP' course, though; much more so than a typical metalcore name.

i have never herd of that band before. if i were in the band, i would definitaly change the name. the name of the band sounds EMO. and wtf is grindcore? there are so many new genres describing metal now! it's so complicated. if the music is metal, don't put words like " Core" and the end of it, and don't put the word " Nu" at the beggining. i don't think it makes much of a difference.

Funny how you say "shitty music" as if 90% of the "metal" albums that have come out lately have been shit, whereas 100% of the big metalcore acts have had incredible releases.
And face it, alot of metalcore these days is one step from being death metal. Without the "shitty" breakdowns, and varied vocals, you'd love it.
Idiots. Please stop bashing "metalcore" for "not being metal." And stop being trendy and l33t and kvlt by thinking metalcore is trash just cause every "know-nothing metalhead" says it is.
Thanks.

C U N-ext T-uesday. i havent heard that in a long time. its mostly used when talking with a friend about someone<usually female, but not exclusively> who is close by or within earshot. you say this refering to them as a cunt in a way that they may not notice or if you are at work or somewhere where cursing isnt the best thing to do with folks around listening. its a slightly coded way of calling someone a cunt and is never really used as a direct insult
never heard of the band tho
edit: you know, i mostly heard chicks say this, usually on the job about a female manager, boss etc. ive rarely hear dudes say it

I'd have to agree with Dissection on this one. A band like Black Dahlia Murder is metalcore but they certainly aren't a run of the mill metalcore band. If anything they sound like melodic death with some hardcore thrown in.
And on the subject of See You Next Tuesday, I personally dig the music. Its fresh.
Damn, I've definitely heard the C U Next Tuesday thing before from middle-aged women.
And you should be careful when you agree with Dissection. Even when he's right he's wrong. 100% of the big metalcore releases have been good? First of all, why even compare the entire corpus of metal to that of a handful of 'big' bands? Secondly, even if the premises were good, that's just a bullshit, reactionary statement.
On the other hand, many a thing ending in '-core' are metal. So everybody else cut that bullshit out.

Did you copy and Paste that directly from other threads???
Or do you have rants saved on your Clipboard in Microsoft Word, because that is identical to a previous rant.
And, you do realise you're gay, right?
Im basing this fact on pure ignorance, since
"90% of the "metal" albums that have come out lately have been shit, whereas 100% of the big metalcore acts have had incredible releases.
"
Thanks for that thoroughly idiotic, subjectively biased, fucking dumb statistic.

Classic...
I heard of this band, i tried listining to it, it just wasnt for me...because im not deaf, or mentally challenged :) But im sure if i kept listining to the music, it would only be a matter of time before i try to stab out my ear drums, or miss and become mentally challenged...

I don't hear any metalcore in BDM in the same way that I don't hear any metalcore in At The Gates. BDM are just a melodic death metal band with, as is the way with the genre, a love for At The Gates.
This thread sucks.
You did your VERY large part in making it that way.

Problematic will hate me with all the power of his little pee-pee for agreeing with him, but this really is the worst statistic that has ever been written anywhere in the history of anything.
I am going to draw a diagram of what you achieve by continually arguing about EM-C0R3. Here it is. (http://bbw-house.com/images/bbw1_10.jpg)

Interesting band, though they sound like a lot of other bands who do this same kind of thing. They remind me of a Chicago band, though that may just be because I haven't heard that band in a while.

we need some old school thrash metal. back to the early days of metallica and slayer and anthrax. or bands could do something different other then doing minor scales.

It's 2006. Besides try to re-enact them, we will never have the geniunity of the 80's thrash, or old school death metal.
