I like groups like cannibal corpse and nasum and I have seen in many tablatures that they play their songs in b flat tunning. What is that?
I have tunned my guitar E A D G B E. How can I tune my guitar to b flat? Is this the most used tunning by grind core o brutal death metal bands?
I have an ESP LTD DELUXE M1000.
Thanks a lot.

quite simple really, get a keyboard/piano... then hit a b flat on the piano/keyboard and tune your e string to it

i think it's 5 (geez) steps down? so go five steps up from the fifth fret on the E string and tune it to sound like the A string and then tune the rest like you normally would.

Actually it's 3 steps down.

Normal B tunning is 2.5 steps down. (half step is flat, a whole step is a note).

Want to do it the easy way? Buy a tuner.

Start by tuning the high e string from the 3rd fret of the g string (not the b string) then tune everything after that. It will probably sound like shit on a 6 string, especially with standard string gauge.

Haha, I tuned my Guitar to F# once. Still not as low as Mortician.
Yeah, I wanted to be cool like them, REALLY cool, and tune down 'til my strings slapped my pick-ups.

But,hmm, yeah..I agree with Setdown.

CC most often play in Eb, with a few exceptions, and dude, just buy a 7string, it makes tuning down a LOT easier :smash:

Except Seven Strings have shit for sound, inless you want to buy a Neck-Thru Carvin with 707's in them. ;)
Yeah, go for that.

Well, in such a low tuning as Bb it naturally sounds better on a seven string, because thats what thats what they´re built for, playing notes not normally within the range of a standard guitar.

I tuned to Drop E once (12 steps down) and it sounded good on my six string. I think it just sounds shitty on stock pick ups, and also Seven String stocks do tend to sound like shit.

Then I guess my guitar is just especially bad at low tunings.

Eh, it could be that, who knows.

Dude you wanna tune down that low with your tremolo? You need to go to a tech, he will adjust your neck and intonation os you can do it and it sounds good. I used t tune to C and the tech looked at my axe and was like, this sounds like shit. the strings were slapping the freats and it was all tingy sounding. He hooked me up with some adjustments, there's a bolt that runs through your neck that can be adjusted and needs to be depending on your tuning, should cost you about 50 bucks tops.:behead:

my Ibanez RG 7 sounds pretty sweet. I tuned down my old (crappy) guitar but the strings were just too lose.. Doesn't play at all.
But the rg are pretty neat. Wizard neck and stuff. It's nice!
