i really wouldn't know, although, when i saw Astriaal live i had the biggest rush when they played "As the Mist Befell the Ruins". unfortunaly, big overseas bands dont come here so i cant comment on them..fortunatly, this makes our local scene on the same pedastool as the overseas. :D

I don't really remember gigs that well... so I'm not exactly sure what the best live song I heard is.... from what I remember Cradle of Filth - Funeral In Carpathia was good at the Zodiac, Oxford, the secret Ozzfest warmup gig. Actually pretty much every song was good there, good atmosphere too... only 400 people hehe :D except 'fire still burns' cause Gians guitar fucked up hahaha

sweet man, get pissed start all the pits, ehehe, they better play ace of spades and orgasmatron...what other good songs have they done..??
walpurgis
2002-08-17, 13:10
Those are basically staples in Motorhead's shows, dude. Ace is usually played as an encore song. When I saw them, they did stuff like Born to Raise Hell, God Save the Queen, Ace, Orgasmatron, a bunch of stuff I don't remember, lol.
Only beef was, I wish they would have done Hellraiser, because it's fucking awesome.

dude ur lucky u got to see them..what do you mean by ace is an encore?..everyone sings a long to it?
walpurgis
2002-08-17, 13:30
I got to see them with Morbid Angel, made me even luckier :)
You know how bands go offstage, then they come back on and do like one or two more songs? that's an encore, and that's what Motorhead did with Ace of Spades.
Ozzy did it with Paranoid. Pantera did it with Cowboys From Hell. Down did it with Bury Me in Smoke. That's all I can remember for now.

yeah they play the favourate till last..its a bit like saying slayer walking off the stage without doing angel of death or bloodline..etc etc, thats pretty lucky but weird..cos motorhead are a completely different genre to morbid angel..its like machine head touring with....black sabbath or something..
walpurgis
2002-08-17, 13:42
Yeah, it was an awesome show though. Most of the peopel there were seein Motorhead, I was among the minority, being under 30, lol.
If you go to www.morbidangel.com and read the part that comes up before the entrance to the site, that's the tour I saw.

ohhh sweet so there basically really good freinds..never knew that..they should both do covers of each others songs..it would be funny to hear morbid angel play ace of spades..or orgasmatron...
walpurgis
2002-08-17, 13:56
I don't know if they're really good friends, but I know they worked together.
Hmm, covering each other's songs huh? I think it'd be funnier hearing Lemmy try to sing Blessed Are the Sick or Where the Slime Live, lol.

Creed did it with My sacrifice....lol. They were actually a hell of a show. Despite many people giving them beef, they are still a good band that I like.

yeah dog. it was my first ever concert and it ruled. Miller Genuine Draft presents G3 with John Petrucci, Steve Vai, and Joe Satriani, July 10, 2001. you might find it "Tours and Concerts" if you search.
and by the way, are all concerts sponsored by beer companies? the one with Satchmo, DT, and King's X is sponsored by Budweiser.

Chapter For Transforming Into A Snake, Black Seeds Of Vengeance and Execration Text were particularly good when I saw Nile on the In Their Darkened Shrines European Tour last year.
Also, Machine Head doing Davidian and a cover of Creeping Death (flawless, I hasten to add) in the encore of the Through The Ashes Of Europe tour was pretty awesome.
Slayer- Angel of Death live at ozzfest 02 in england. It fucking rocked

It's to much to name all the Iron Maiden songs they played back then...but this topic isn't just about cool songs, but also about the live performance. Paschendale seems to have a great performance, but haven't seen Maiden playing it yet.

K, before any of u say anything, yes, i meant Osis, not crappy gay ass oasis, and no, of course none of u heard it, they are an underground canadien band, that probably will get screwed out of a record deal in the battle of the bands.

is that because Vortex didn't do any stupid ass effects on his voice and he just sang really good?
Hmmm, I liked when CoB played Everytime I die.

Actually vortex's voice did sound good. The same way it sounds on the cd, so there could be effects, im not sure. The lead guitar was too low in volume for the whole show, that was the only downside.
