That 55 second intro sung by Tom Jones had me looking for a shotgun to put in my mouth.
I'm not denying that I like Megadeth's latest album any more than I deny that I couldn't stand the stuff they did for a few years before their disbanding.
But this... just fun or are we talking a real sell-out here?

I don't think there was much money involved here so I'm gonna say it was for fun. I'm beting someone involved in the show is a fan and thought it would be kinda cool to have Dave in the show. I would.
Its really no different then while Pantera did Sponge Bob Square Pants show once.

I never said it was. well now that I think about it, it's not really selling out, but I still think its fucking stupid. And I love Megadeth. I'm just not too fond of Dave's personality.
Well, to continue down the track of things I can't deny, we find the fact that there is a difference between if the owners of WB offered Megadeth a few buckets of dollars for it, or if someone working on the show asked them if they would like to "participate" for the fun of it.
And anyway, there is one positive aspect of it - can't you just hear the worried parents talking about how heavy metal creeps down through the ages?
Personally I say that you are never too young to learn certain things in life...

Right. Who the hell cares that Dave agreed to be in a cartoon? Its kinda cool. I don't think it was WB's first pick of a person but a fan's in the toons writing room that suggested it. WB would more likely want someone big on MTV. That makes me think that a fan of Megadeth works there, pushed it, and got the agreement with dave before anyone else could disagree or find someone else. This toon might give a kid an ideal that they may have never got from their parents or friends.
Dave has made many cameos on shows in the past. Why is Looney Toons any different?

^ agreed. I doubt if WB wanted to hire a cameo for a cartoon to push it, they would take an artists whose peak popularity was a decade and a halve ago. They'd prolly ask 50cents or some other crapass rapper or something..

Don't get me wrong, I'm trying to be a hypocrite. If I were a successful artist and someone from, say, the looney toons team had asked me if they could put me and my band in a show, then hell yea, when do you want me to come down and record the voice tracks?
And as soulinsanse pointed out - maybe metal gained a fan or two.
By the way, soulinsane, that avatar of yours have been nagging me for some time; I feel I ought to recognise it but I can't. Where is it from?
