Don't be a retard. You should have explained what it was when you started the thread.

i feel like ill name stuff that was covered in other threads

like

life is abuse records

profane existance: some of their catalog is more leaning into metal

prank record: maybe a few bands

slap a ham: you probably already know this, this was the big so called "power violence" label, maybe some metal there

my knowledge of diy labels is kinda dated to when i was big into the more underground shit. the internet is kinda killing it nowadays, since everything is now archived and easily accessable. old shit is rereleased, gift packaged and sold at a markup, or shit, available on some file-sharing site etc. basically the scene of cdr labels, tape labels, zines, diy shit in general is so glutted with bullshit, too numerous and lacking in anything interesting or innovative, i since stop paying attention, you might find a couple gems out there left over from the early 90's, some bands that were doing or still doing something interesting. sorry im getting all negative and shit

Heaven forbid someone should look for information on something they don't understand.

Nice to see someone has a fuckin educated opinion.

Yeah, diy certainly is going to shit. Fortunatly, there are still people (not necessarily metal or punk) who are still trying to turn out high quality things.

A brief introduction to the genre would be more convenient. No one wants to look shit up just to recommend you something, at least I don't. If you named a few bands in the genre I might be able to help you.

It's not a genre, it's a way of doin shit. Im looking for bands who go with the DIY ethic in the metal genre.

Ill try to be more extreme and radical like you...

I ask because I dont know of any DIY metal bands.

its almost like a trick question coz everything i listed has elements and moments of not being quite metal, damad and assuck and the dregs being the most metal i can think of but they are commonly known to most folks

By garage bands do you mean bands that are unsigned and don't have a record label? Like local bands? I think I may be grasping it..

no, usually members of bands creating thier own label, making thier own merch, recording and releasing thier own music along with releasing other bands material whom usually they know quite well, booking thier own tours, etc. this is the ethos of hardcore music or was in the late 80's labels like discord, vermiform, sst and so on

I dont know why everyone throws so much h8@OP. If you didnt know what DIY meant in this sense, dont blame the guy... God.

And drum machines do not equal sucking. Pure and simple. I cant help with suggesting any DIY metal bands Im afraid. At least, any decent sounding ones. But there should be more people trying to turn out high quality stuff on their own, its

If you can, grab Sarpanitums 2005 Demo; Despoilment of Origin. Self Released, and Im pretty sure it was all recorded, mixed, mastered and so on on their own. Very good quality.
Its gettin redone and rereleased with new songs tho for their album which is gonna slay. No, im not a member or know them, I just like their stuff.

Come off it! When we put the concept of "DO IT YOURSELF" together with "BAND", why would it be anything except a band which does everything for itself?

I know plenty of unsigned local bands, none of which fit your criteria.

Label wise, check out...Southern Lord and Last House On The Right. The creators of these labels had bands, then put themselves on the label as well as other bands of their liking.
