Former MEGADETH guitarist Marty Friedman has completed writing, playing, and engineering his new solo album, entitled Music For Speeding. According to an official statement, "fans of Marty's first solo album, Dragon's Kiss, and his aggressive playing in CACOPHONY and MEGADETH will freak out when they hear that style applied in Marty's new and more modern format… This is the kind of playing that Marty's fans wish that he had played for the last few years while he was in MEGADETH. He is currently in negotiations with labels (majors and indies) all around the world and it is looking like a winter release."

I cant wait man, it's gonna be mind boggling! That article said he was combing both megadeth type riffs with his own style, so its gonna be something really awesome to look foward to. Of course, not as excited about it as metallica's new cd coming out in november.

Marty Friedman is one of the best, in my book.
Although Jason Becker is better, Marty is the man.

I'm too tired to give u a hundred reasons on why ur very wrong. I just worked a charity carnival yesterday for 9 hours, and I've just about dropped dead. Megadeth was one of the 80s top bands, and one of the greatest metal bands ever. That's all I care to say for now.

i downloaded one of marty's songs last night "Forbidden City" and its amazing, i think its one of the songs him and jason did together when they were Cacophony, im looking forward to hearing what the new band will sound like (Al Pitrelli, David Ellefson, Jimmy Degrasso, Marty, and a new singer) that band will be awesome

Well, this is the first time I've graced this thread with my presence.
I don't "team" up with anyone, you're just generally the first person that gets insulting, and I yelled at you about calling someone a "fucking retard" because *news flash* You're not supposed to do that.
And if you want to do something to "even the teams" perhaps you should try getting people with power at the forums to stand at your side, because after all, we have the power to edit/delete/recommend people for expulsion from the forums.

i read in my local newspaper that the first song the ex-megadeth band is gonna record is an old buddy holly song that was never published......no joke.......i think they are gonna make it into a metal song........
i guess they already picked a singer too.....it said his name but i forgot it........

Well the cd was released......and it's amazing. Gimme a dose is my favorite song on it, and to make things better marty is touring with Chris Poland!
