OK, I am looking to design my band a website. I am looking for more examples of bands that have good websites. One of my favorite sites so far has been the Noumena website.

If you could post some more that could be greatly appreciated. I think from my above example you can tell somewhat the style of site I am looking for. Thanks

Dark Tranquillity's website is very nice indeed.

Others I like:

The End: http://www.allchaos.net/newsmain1.html
Strapping Young Lad: http://www.strappingyounglad.com/strappingyounglad_main.html
Finntroll: http://www.finntroll.net/

I'd go for something very simple and minimalistic if I were you. Don't try to put too much stuff at once on a page.

Did you get my PM? I sent you another one that better explains my question earlier.

Yeah. I have an idea about it, just starting up photoshop now to see if its right. The shitty thing about this PC is the lack of ram and how it takes ages to do anything. But yeah the PM did explain things fine, cheers.

ImBored, I also have a question about this layout

http://www.allchaos.net/newsmain1.html

Was the sidebar one each side made with vector art or is that something somebody used images as a resource? Because thats some kickass vector art.

ImBored: Another example of what I mean with the vector stuff is like the top of the Finntroll website, the intertwining lines at the top, doing that with vectors would require the ability to cut out intersecting segments of two seperate vector images.

PM'd. Erm, the allchaos one, looks more traditional media than anything, but thats rare nowadays so it likely was just digital. Id say, looking from it, it was actually just a hand drawn design and gone over in say, photoshop, with textures and stuff. Doubtful its vectors, which are quite hard to get intense detail with (theyre more used for fluid, organic lines and logos and stuff, because its all math based.) Ill check out the finntroll thing and edit in here.

Fake edit: Yeah the finntroll thing, would be best to start drawing as vectors, again, for the clarity in the curves etc and resize-ability (made up word) but to get what theyve got there, obviously it was worked in to afterwords with raster images and the like, for texture, shading etc. But the type of preliminary design for that, is ideal for vectors (its just a pain in the arse drawin em sometimes, but nothings easy sometimes)
