second is way better, the first one sounds choppy. the first one is more popular for punk music as far as i know

second style is the best

if you do it fast enough you can get a nice death metal or black metal thing going.

RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
B B B B B B B B B

that kind is an easy death metal blast beat, you kind of cheat by playing the double bass at a slower speed, but it's easier to puncuate the blast beats with some hard hitting slower double bass grooves. Hey it's death metal, not at all an exact science. I like Vader's drummer, kind of technical

I don't have a doublepedal yet but my fav is like

R R R R
S S S S
B B B B

Just really fast. To me it sounds like any blastbeat

I say the second one because if you done that Bass part you could make it really fast and get a good Death Metal sound

yeah, I prefer the 2nd one too. But the way to make it sound like Death-Metal is not only the speed. "Mid-Tempo" is mostly more brutal than blast-speed. Listen to good old Grave or Obituary.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't blastbeats supposed to be played like this?

R_R_R_R_R_R_R_R_R_R_R_R
_S_S_S_S_S_S_S_S_S_S_S_
B___B___B___B___B___B__
__B___B___B___B___B___B

I mean really fast ones, and sometimes with only half the beats on the ride :P

That's the black metallish blastbeat, yes... Grindcore blastbeat is usually.

SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

_B_B_B_B_B_B_B_B_

Hehehe :D:homer:

Ok, I am new to drums because I play guitar, but what does r mean? Sorry and I know I probably should have put this in a different thread but it just got to my attention when I was reading the things you guy's typed. Also, does anyone know a good site that can show me how to read tab's and thing's like that? Hail!!!

The "R" means Ride Cymbal,
the "S" means snare
the B_B_B_B_B_B_B_B_B = Bass 1 (usually the right foot)
the _B_B_B_B_B_B_B_B_ = Bass 2 (usually the left foot)
