Jack Owen (Cannibal Corpse) joined Deicide? When did this happen? I havent been out of the scene that long. Somebody fill me in on whats going on with this please, Is there a album out with Owen playing on it? Any other major lineup changes would help also. Thanks

He is. He's got a bluesish band that I read about a while back. I downed it then, but I'd like to get a listen in. But, they are right: with or without Jack truly in the lineup, its just not Deicide without the Hoffman brothers.
Not a big fan to begin with, but I'll download whatever new comes out, IF it comes out.

Wow, he IS in the lineup...

Hoffman brothers got tired of Benton's shit, left the band. Jack Owen and a guy from Vital Remains are now the guitarists, though im not sure if thats permanent

yeah, i saw owen with deicide. He didn't jump around, and he fucked up on some stuff, but he looked like he enjoyed playing.
And fucking benton is a prick on stage!

any pictures or live videos of CC when owen was with them i have seen, he was never really jumping around or anything, just kinda there kicking ass and such. and his eyes were closed alot of the time, maybe he still gets stage fright, though that would be very un-metal of him.
yeaaaah I found it weird that he gave his excuses for leaving Cannibal Corpse as 'im tired of this sort of music' and then just fills in for Deicide (on the tour at least, I wasnt aware he did anything more for them). It makes absolutely no sense to me. But, whatever. And yeah, hes dull on stage...seen him with cannibal corpse, he never seems to move. And watch the Metal Blade anniversary gig...he stands in the same spot all night.

Wasn't Glen supposed to kill himself when he turned 31 or something?
I read reviews of a show and it said the new line up wasn't tight yet.

i enjoy Deicide.
i think everyone, opinions about Glen aside, can holds hands and say that "Legion" is a good album.

I too enjoy Deicide. I even kinda like their last few Roadrunner albums. All that aside, Glen Benton is probably the biggest ass ive ever had the misfortune of speaking to.

Yeah, i have no problem wth deicide. I would never hold anything personally against a band if i didnt like someone in it. 2 different things.

Most of the bass recordings on all of Deicide's albums are done by the drummer Steve
Why can't he write the basslines? Fucking lazy ass cock sucking bastard.
I bet that guy would blow satan if he could.

Jack Owen only koined Deicide for one tour or something, although I think Dave Suzuki will be a permanent member. They also obtained a new guy. Dont remember his name.
So Deicide is now practically 'Vital Remains with Steve On Drums' right?
Come on, what motives could Benton and Asheim have for NOT breaking up the band.... both their song writers are gone after a LONG time so I highly doubt they come up with new material that will come close to anything they've done before. So this is practically a cash tour machine.
Either that, or someone decided that using the media for extra attention is in fact pure marketing genius, overdid it a bit, and soon the Hoffmans will come back.

Glen wants more money, so thats probably why he wants to stick with the name deicide. Im not shure if it`s such a wise idea though, all this with hoffmans leaving must have caused lots of bad press for Deicide, and even Glen himself.

I'm tempted to say 'No press is bad press' to be cheesy, but in this case the news have stuck at an underground level and reached no new public. So yeah, you're right I guess.
It's a joke anyway.

Unless the Hoffman brothers get the name Deicide, the band will never reach the same levels musically again as they did with Scars of the crucifix and Legion.

I dubt it will be the same even if the hoffmans get the name as even though they where the songwriters, Glens vocals where kinda deicide`s trademark. They should just all go they`re seperate ways, and then glen should die off a drug overdose or something

Considering that Jack left Cannibal to persue his "Blues based Rock band", I found it odd too...to leave CC and join Deicide.......

It is weird to leave the top death metal band in world to join retards such as Deicide! Nothing has been any good since Once Upon The Cross, my guess is that their just friends & he joined for a tour.

Yeah.
Scars... helped get me into death metal when it came out, and I followed Deicide. But, then Benton kicked out the Hoffmans and then got all these other session guys and now it's just a giant clusterfuck I think.
