Brutal Death Metallers Nile have been confirmed for an Aussie tour, this coming November."

not sure where it is from, but she's told me about every other international act months in advance. Hoorah!

Dismember are comming in the meantime.
Looks like the end of the year will be quite metal.

Oh, and while I am posting this shit - Tim, you might be interested to know that Corpse Carving are comming to play in Melbourne on the 5th - though I don't see why you would want to go see such a shit band.

Seen 'em twice and they were awesome on both occasions. They were better the first time because the larger venue helped their sound somewhat, but they were still monumental the second time. You guys will enjoy it. And Jarrod, try to stay sober - this is one gig you'll want to remember!

Hate Eternal are somewhat boring on CD, so to enhance the experience I drank alot. Nile though, I'll stay sober for sure. I stayed reasonably sober for Deeds of Flesh and they sounded absolutely massive. Cannot wait!

Oh, and Tim, I was talkin' to Cam (Psycroptic bassist just incase you don't know him by that) last night and he said they have the Melbourne support already.

and Alarum + Cryptopsy + Martyr + Beneath The Massacre + Neuraxis are doing a Euro tour, John!

Fucking Europeans rub it in our faces. As much as I'm dying to see Nile, that lineup promises even more creamery!

Australia is a far cry from Johnstown, PA. Nobody would believe me if i explained what happened at that Nile show back in 1998.

Well back in 98 i had just started a band & was about 2 months in & i had got a phone call from a friend of mine that was in the death metal band Mi'gauss & he had said that they have to pull out of a show & asked if my band could fill in, So i got all the details & said why not. So i went over his house just to hang out he showed me this metal magazine with Nile in it & said this is who you are playing with tomorrow, I had never heard of them at the time so i just blew it off. So we get down to the show & there were to be 3 bands Nile, Sathanous & us De'Profundus, So we get there & the owner informs us that its free drinks for the bands, ok so this was really a bad idea especially for us in our inexsperience because the rest of my band members slammed down endless drinks except for me because i was a weed smoker. So i was just hanging out watching this all unfold & started bullshitting with the singer dude from Nile & out of nowhere he asked me if i could get him some weed i said ya ill smoke a joint with you since i was going to anyway before the show started & he said no im talking about getting me an ounce or more i said man i live 60 miles from here sorry i cant, so we go outside get high bullshit for a little bit then i head in for the soundcheck & my band members were trashed, so i thought to myself here we go, so we started jamming the 1st 2 songs went ok but after that it was a disaster, My bassist was playing the wrong parts of songs the drummer was so off beat it was just horrible, even at one point we stopped in the middle of a song, i tried to cover it up by doing a little fill with my guitar. So i was a very embarrassing moment but funny now that i look back on it, everytime i see Nile on the metal station or hear or see anything about them it always brings that memory back to me. Its a true story if anybody can contact Nile or talks with them at a show ask them about the show that this chick Jill setup in Johnstown, PA at the club Barockas i bet you get a funny response.

So Psycroptic don't have the support?

BeastOfCarrion
2005-08-19, 22:28
Doesn't look like it.

But does that really matter?

As I have stated before - The Corner is a shithouse venue, why do people keep using it when there are better venues in Melbourne?

Cloaca
2005-08-19, 23:41
Well Jarrod said before that Psycroptic had lined it up. Anyway, I haven't been to The Corner before, so yeah, I'll make my opinion then.
