i was gonna make this suggestion as well and found this existing thread. i've enjoyed this site plenty the way it is..but it would be cool to be able to talk to people in real time. there would be a laugh a second with all the sarcastic bastards we have here. :D :beer:

there is an extension for mozilla firefox called Yakalike. search for it and youll understand what it does. its like a portable chat room, and it could be fun for metaltabs. i thought about it a while ago when the program was released but i decided against it

By request of infinity.. i'm making a suggestion that the chat room be a feature to metaltabs. Its actually a pretyt kick ass idea, for those like myself who are on ALOT. its a way of staying updated quicker than posting and waiting like i know we all do. :p

I agree. me, infinity and ... bassniggerz over here did it last night. I mean once a bunch of people get on here we basically start posting about the same like 3 threads in chit chat non stop. And like i said before. Its like post... wait 1 minute for a response.. .ok cool reply... oh wait there was a new post.. so you gotta repost and so on. I think it should be implemented better somehow, maybe be able to see whos on it before you attempt to log in to it, that would be cool.

I saw in some forums they had a chat room thread dedicated to people posting that they were in the chat room and to tell everyone else to come in. Dunno if it'll swing well with you guys, but it could make the chatroom a little more active considering this place has alot of active members.

There was a shoutbox on tabcrawler that was cool, but the chatroom we had was slow. It would be busy and then nothing, but the shoutbox was busy all the time. It didn't have any effect on the rest of the forums I don't think. I've modded there for years. With the new system we don't have that stuff.
A gardening forum I'm on has a chat and a thread if you want to invite others in. It doesn't get used much. Pm's and threads seem to be enough.
I'm a slow typer so the other options are better for me.
PST, can I be a mod at l/p with you? ;) Nah, I'll offer my services if you're all incapacitated.
