Making ringtones

Hey, maybe this is a useless post...but here me out.

Do any of you have any idea or inkling of a thought as how to make your own ringtones for cellphones? I have a few pantera ones...but it would be so much cooler to make a cannibal corpse ringtone or anything death metal for that matter....

Back when everyone had monophonic (is that the right word?) ringtones, I would make people ringtones for money at school. It was usually gay music though, but it was the money that counted. I used that composer thing you can find on some Nokia phones, it's pretty limiting though.

If there was a website or something like that that let you make polyphonic ringtones, I'd definately give it a shot. Imagine blast beats on those drums.... :rolleyes:

My phone has the Hi-Fi ringtones, which is close to MP3 quality (about 64k or so) but it sounds like the damn song....so blastbeats would definitely be cool....right now my phone plays Walk...which is pretty fucking cool. Got Phil screamin' RE....SPECT...WALK!!! ARE YOU TALKING TO ME!!!.. You get thte idea. I think some cryptopsy ringers would be pretty neat though.

Probably, but how would you send that file to your phone? Probably need some special cord.

first you need a mobile with integrated mp3 player
second you need a mobile with the feature to use those mp3 tracks as a ringtone ...
that's what i have
it's pretty cool to see people staring at you when your mobile sounds.....

I'm sure there are midi composers, since poly. ringtones are just that. You could also get mp3(or whatever) to midi converters, but the ones I've used don't work well at all.

You can send it to your mobile via a USB port or a Bluetooth/Infra-red adapter. Most phones have bluetooth or infra-red, you can get USB transmitters (or whatever they're called) to for quite cheap, but not cheap enough if you're only interested in one or a couple of ringtones.

You need an MP3 Encoder. Edit a track to the part you want it to play (just that, and cut the rest of the song). Then use Motorola's bluetooth shit to download it to your phone, and viola. You've got yourself a kickass ringtone. My guitar teacher's friend knows how to do it. And I'm about to pay him to make me a few.

My guitar teacher has "To Bid You Farewell" on his phone. It rang one day when we were playing, and it made me sad. :(

I programmed several slayer riffs in my old Nokia before I realized they were writing over each other :mad: The piece of shit could hold 50 ring tones, but you could only have one custom tone. It was amusing when the breakdown in Angel of Death would blast out in the middle of an important meeting at my old job, but cell phones suck...
