I know that most of you hate this band so please try to stay out of this thread. They've got a new album coming out June 7th and it sounds pretty awesome. They've completely dropped the hardcore vocals for this one, which is a great thing because he's got a great voice. The lead guitar work is the best I've seen from a band in a while.

The guitar work is definetly awesome.. and I love the singing.. I guess its a good thing that he rupture blood vessels in his throat or whatever happened.

their basically Power Metal now.. I really like that one song "The Beast and the Harlot"

haha compared to Unholy Confessions (the only song I've heard by them) the voacls sound really fucking lame haha. Better than before I'd have to say...but don't seem super power metal...need some falseto stuff to make it some nice pure power metal...and much more energy. Right now it is metal music with fucking rock vocals.

Give M. Shadows a break. . . He had his throat screw up and had to have reconstructive surgery. . . I mean seriously. . . that would suck. . . but at the same time they were on warped tour. . . so commence with any bashing. . . Aside from that I love the guitar/piano work of Synyster Gates.

As musicians they are excellent, but I don't like thier style, thier lyrics, and I hate thier vocalist.

you dont seem to like much outside of BM, do you?

i enjoyed it, i always thought A7X was one of the better metalcore/screamo type bands, they where always better in the music department than the rest. i think his voice is great considering what happened.

I agree, I like power metal though so i think this stuff is better then the old stuff

And they are great musicians,I tabbed one of thier songs, woh boy fucking ridiculous

I also read in a Guitar World Magazine that before his blood vessels had burst they already wanted to quit the hardcore vocals. They said that it used to be pretty original to have hardcore vocals but now everybody does it so it's gotten pretty lame. Pretty risky move on their part because most of their fanbase was hardcore. Just one more reason for me to like them

The new stuff isn't that bad, a LITTLE cheesy. The vocals before were hideous, non-hardcore vocals that just sounded like screaming. The blood vessel bursting maybe was just the bulet in the head type omen thing that they should stop doing those stupid vocals.

Well eh, M Shadows lyrics are all right and sometimes his vocals compliment the music but anyways. I listen to it more or less for Synyster. I can't remember erm. . . well the last track on Waking the Fallen. I was amused listening to it and stealing each and every riff from it(including the cute little acoustic D minor thing at the beginning) but the outro. . . so fitting for the song but he was just wanting to show off. . . so like him I occasionally use that outro to show off. . . hahaha. I believe most of that album was in D minor if I remember correctly. . . a few songs didn't really do that but eh, you don't want to be too redundant. . . just redundant enough for people to catch the trend and follow it.
