This is something I've wondered about as well.
The only death metal song I know of without vocals is "Genital Grinder". It was originally by Carcass, but I have the version by Pig Destroyer. Damn good song.
But I can't think of any others. :(
[EDIT] by the way, i just found a thread started by sixfeetunder420 called "instrumentals" in the bands section. maybe that'll help. go to the bands forum and search for "instrumentals". as one guy put it, the search button is your friend. ;) (and it'll keep you from a lot of flaming around here, too, for starting threads on topics already covered)

Cannibal Corpse - From Skin To Liquid is a favourite of mine, but if you're into the more melodic stuff, Man Made God by In Flames or 1776 by Iced Earth should be fun.

Are you asking for instrumental songs, or are you asking for lyriced songs with muted vocals like a kareoke?

probably the latter. and all our metaltabs heroes are suggesting instrumentals :p
as for CoB, try out their mods and practice singing over those. the CoB mods are available on www.scythes-of-bodom.com
