Misery index or dying fetus?

Just got introduced to killer goove death metal band misery index's retaliate album...


i hear that destroy the opposition album by dying fetus is in the similar obviously because of band members but was just wondering if its worth getting or stick with misery?

any similar bands i should be aware of??

Dying Fetus is brutal. If you never heard them, think a more technical, and heavier sound than Misery Index. The guitarist (John Gallagher) does gutteral vocals along with Jason Netherton from MIs screams, more grind/blast parts, better guitar work...and the Dying Fetus signature..lots of awesome breakdowns. Killing on Adrenaline and Destroy the Oppostion are the two best albums, in my opinion. Some other bands with groovy breakdowns you might like: Circle of Dead Children, Despised Icon, Stabwound, Wasteform and Internal Bleeding.

Dying Fetus was awesome until "Stop at Nothing", that album sucks.

Instinct tells me to say "Dying Fetus" to this question, but I listen to Misery index alot more and I've seen both bands live twice, Dying Fetus was better the first time but they blew cock the second time, so Misery Index wins for being top notch both times.

Misery index has potential to be a great band. I think their next album should be very good from what ive heard from their newest demo or ep, whatever it was.

I've seen both live and they were both very good. However, I like Retaliate more than Stop At Nothing (these are the only albums I own of the two bands) so my vote goes to Misery Index.
