How to develope a singing voice?

Hey, im a bass player but i would still like to have a aweseme voice to have just in case and stuff, anyone have tips on how to develope a sweet voice? like any genre like from anywhere from pop to death metal? like is there any books or videos or websites or anything like anyone know any warm ups to do or anything???? :confused:
