such a great line up in my eyes... but god damn. They're trying to keep it "underground" by playing at shitty no name places.... Tinker Field? never fucking heard of it.

Fuck, I still don't know whether it's worth getting tickets just to see Opeth. Since there's so many other bands playing, their set time is gonna be limited, and knowing how long Opeth songs are, they might only get like a coupla songs. So yeah.....I'm at a dilemma.

Soulinsane
2005-06-04, 23:25
I'm sure you would enjoy most of the other music too. At least it will give you the day to discover new sounds and relax. Jul 1 is going to be Heaven/Hell on earth for me.

Just got my tickets. July 1st should be a good day.

I've decided to "fuck this", with this tour. I don't think it's gonna be worth it for considering how far I'd have to drive. I've decided to go to Megadeth's Gigantatour instead. :D

FloodOfFaggots
2005-06-25, 04:25
Well I'm going to this today, the first date, in Mass. You can now greet the bands and I can finally get GWAR to sign my guitar. I'll tell you about Opeth set times and what they play and such so you can reconsider since I think this will be a pretty bad ass tour.

It would be nice to see Opeth and Lamb of God, but I don't know if I want to sit through those over craptastic bands.

It's okay, just pass the time by doing some cool spin kicks, windmills, and air-punches.

Soulinsane
2005-06-25, 18:33
I had better not see any of the shit taking place near me in undesignated areas. I'm going to have my 2 year old with me and if she gets hit then the person that does it is going to die. I say that if you want to spin your arms around like a retarded ninja then do it in the mosh pit and risk getting your ass kicked like everyone else.

Good family fun

She is a little metalhead and this will be her first show :) I know she will just love it! Problem will be getting her to leave her ear plugs in ;)

Tulvox
2005-06-25, 21:25
Are you sure you want to expose your daughter to some of these bands? I wouldn't call most of them metal...

True, but she knows the difference.

I'm hoping she's a Megadeth fan... :p

I might go to this concert July 7th if I can get a ride.

I'm trained to disappear and track people down if I have to  Rappers shoot like idiots anyway. I got military expert metals for shooting both small arms and rifles, backed up by years of hunting and growing up in the backwooded areas. I can be a ghost if need be.

They will die :vampire:

It is indeed a dark age when Soul's daughter dislikes Megadeth...

I nearly ran over one the other day here. He was walking that rapper stride in the highway and, me being high on codeine, thought I am tired of this shit. These fuckers here just like to just step out infront of you and J-walk across the 3 lane highway as if they have some kinda right to make you stop for them.

That one fucker tried that and I know I must have run over his foot. He was alive when I looked in the mirror but on his back. He just kept walking like I was going to move first... I didn't :vampire: I felt of heard no bump or found any dent or blood on my car so fuck him.

If everyone contributes, we can clean the world of the source of shit music.

I had a guy do the exact thing to me and a mate, man it pissed me off.
We threw a bottle at him and abused him though. I hope it was a rapper, if not he was an ignorant cunt so i dont care anyway

Most of the bands are pretty bad ass except for a few.

Strapping Young Lad is awesome.
Gwar plays a couple songs off of scumdogs.
Devildriver is pretty fun live even though I don't really like their studio stuff.
There was tons of moshing. Most hardcore that I've ever seen. Lots of fat guys and tall skinny guys that take off their shirts. I mostly protected my girlfriend and got punched in the back a lot. You can get pictures with gwar for a couple bucks and you can get all the bands to sign shit for you, there's a schedule they give out.
Opeth played some song off of damnation, they played Deliverance and some song of hearse. Just three songs, about 35 min set.

Woow, I'm glad I didn't go.

yeah dude but then again the average opeth song is like 8 minutes long.

Tulvox

Yeah but the only bands I want to see are Opeth and Lamb of God so it's not worth going to.

If not for The Red Chord and Strapping Young Lad alone, its worth it for me. If I can make it I will.

This show was awesome..

I talked to Phil and Oli from All That Remains, talked to Kevin Talley for a good while.. he actually approached me.

Spoke with Devin and Gene, and I'm on an Everytime I Die DVD.. yeh they suck but I'm on the DVD.

Gwar was amazing outside.. just amazing.

If they have this again next year I will be there.

I left early though.. Because after GWAR, Unearth and Chaimara all in a row.. then Opeth comes out with the shittiest tone ever.. and then plays shit off Damnation..

LAME, they turned it into a big hippie fest.. then Clutch went on next... now its a hippie fest with rednecks involved.

It was horrible.. was the kill a great concert.

I wasn't going to sit through that crap to see Poison The Well and Lamb of God.

I got really fucked up in the Strapping Young Lad pit aswell

Its all one stage, right Eric?

BLS
2005-07-09, 16:01
Yes.

It was like the Ozzfest second stage.. they only rented out the Tweeter Parking lot.. not the Pavalan.

You are in NC anyway. WTF.

My buddy went to the Philly show, though. He got covered in the GWAR Phallus juice from a good hundred yards out. It was at a shitty venue, though. And Opeth's tone was the cause of shitty people working tech for the tour. I've heard their live sound is incredible.

I saw it a couple of weeks ago. For the bands that I went for, it was great. Terror put on a pretty great show (I was in the front of the pit, so I was not in the feuding "metal kids vs. hardcore kids" area). Did my first crowd surf there, which was really fun and interesting. Madball were pretty good. Of course though, Gwar kicked extreme ass, and sprayed a bunch of stuff on us. Now for the bad parts. Norma Jean is possibly the worst band I have ever heard, or somewhat seen in my entire life. They use about two chords : open drop C# power chord (palm muted), and a dischord. I do not how people find this exciting. They were almost beaten in horrible factor (I am going to get flamed for this) by SYL, who got up there in worst bands I have heard or seen. All I could hear is lame drop C riffs and Devin bitching about something stupid. Poison the Well just sucked, badly. We left during them though.

They had the worst clean tone.. just shrill and very processed sounding, my 5150 has a better clean tone. And the distortion just sounded like a bee's nest.. it wasn't because of the sound guy, Unearth still had amazing tone, as did many other bands.

Well we live in differant states where the tour date for each of us was weeks apart, so somthing could have changed when they came to denver. The tone on lamnations is very good also.
