Can anyone recommend some online resources, or books which basically explain guitar theory completely (like scales, modes etc). Yeah learning scales is no problem, but I want to know how to combine different scales to achieve certain sounds, what scales/mdoes/whatever go well together - and any other useful shit like that.

Ah yes, really amzing site. Wow.
I'm sure if I learned some basic theory and applied that knowledge to guitar scales, then I wouldn't really need to learn all that.

yep ;)
its like why bother to learn every chord position and name when you can learn how to build them and then save all that time

This is a pretty cool little site i've found:

I'll head over to the guitar street some time and see what they have to offer concerning books.

I have firefox, too, and they both worked fine. If it's still screwing up trying copying and pasting the links at AskJeeves.com . That usually works for me if I'm having other problems.
