I wanted to start this thread up for any Anthrax fans out there to kinda keep track of their soon to be released album, We've Come For You All. I havent found a confirmed tracklist on the official site but I dug this up somewhere, I think Audiogalaxy.
01. Black Dahlia
02. Refuse To Be Denied
03. Superhero
04. Safe Home
05. What Doesn't Die
06. Strap On My Old School
07. Taking The Music Back
08. Nobody Knows Anything
09. Expiration
10. Think About An End
Release date hasn't been confirmed either, but I'm hearin late July or sometime in August. Scott's latest post on the site says they're mixin the record now so August sounds like a safe bet.
Anyways, use this thread to post shit on the new album. If you dont like Anthrax thats great, just dont let this thread turn into an "Anthrax Sucks" thing.
hail satan.

Is it just me or does Anthrax sound goofy in all of their songs? I would love to hear some serious music from them. If I'm wrong please point me into the right direction and tell me some cool songs to dl from them.

Anthrax have always been the metal band that was serious yet knew how to joke and be goofy. Any seasoned Anthrax fan knows this, its just how they are.
Try reading the lyrics to the songs you think are goofy Opeth, it might change your mind.

oh and about that gothic dork part, I'm prolly the most unmetal-like person on here. I listen to many other types of music.
It's ok to have different opinions dude, not everyone is gonna like the same music, it's what makes the world go round.

sorry Opethdude, its true. I'm as pissed as you are... here's some good news though:
PANTERA's DIMEBAG DARRELL Makes Guest Appearance On New ANTHRAX CD
PANTERA guitarist Dimebag Darrell makes a return guest appearance on the forthcomingANTHRAX CD, We've Come For You All, ANTHRAX drummer Charlie Benante has revealed via his latest posting on the group's official web site.
"The almighty Dimebag is back and playing on two songs: 'Cadillac Rock Box' & 'Strap It On' (that's our ode to lesbian sex)," Benante wrote. "He fuckin' smokes as always!!!!!!! I'm so thankful he saves his best shit for us - hee hee hee. I could listen to him play all night."
"The songs on this record are absolutely KILLER, I'm very proud of this one," Benante stated about the upcoming CD. "I'm so close to it and all, that's why I've been playing it for friends and enemies. The response I'm getting is great, which is a good thing. So please hang on, simmer down now. It's coming like a raging bull with its balls tied. With thick riffs, crazy double bass beats (my idea, you're welcome), screaming vocals, bombastic bass and yes... we have guitar solos as well!
"The cover art is the SHIT with the Kung Fu grip!" the drummer continued. "It's the kind of cover you'd always thought we'd do but hadn't. I had this idea and title when I was flying back from Chicago, it just came to me: "we've come for you all"... kinda creepy, kinda Twilight Zone. I was going over some things with [webmaster] Brent and he mentioned Alex Ross as a possible artist. I first thought 'Hmmmmmmmmmm, his style is very cool', could we get him? YES WE CAN! If you're not familiar with Alex check out http://www.alexrossart.com. He did many of the concept work for the Spider-Man movie and his work is in the movie Unbreakable and countless comics. He's really in demand and actually wanted to do a cover for us. What are the odds? Ahhh, something went smooth for a change. I had a great time speaking with Alex over the 2 months that this came together. He is my favorite artist.
"People were asking me if we're doing a tour with MOTÖRHEAD in Europe and I would like to tell them a big fuck 'yes', but it hasn't been CONFIRMED yet. Stay tuned to this channel all you ANTHROPEANS and we'll let you know where and when it's going to happen."
In other news, Benante performed the song "Bounce" with SYSTEM OF A DOWN during the latter's appearance at the Ozzfest 2002 stop in Holmdel, New Jersey on Saturday, July 20th. "['Bounce'] one of my favorite [SOAD tracks]," Charlie said. "Gawd that felt good. I can actually say that ANTHRAX kinda played the Ozzfest, well one fifth, ha ha ha!"

ANTHRAX Set European Release Date For 'We've Come For You All'
ANTHRAX have set March 3, 2003 as the release date of their long-awaited new album, "We've Come For You All", through Nuclear Blast Records in Europe. According to an official Nuclear Blast newsletter, "the problems with [ANTHRAX's] US label seem to be solved, so there shouldn't be any further delay concerning the release date."
"We've Come For You All" was recorded at BearTracks Recording Studio in Suffern, New York and was produced by the Scrap 60 Productions team, which includes current ANTHRAX guitarist Rob Caggiano.
does this mean a possible late 2002 release in the US??
It might, but whatever it means, it means there's actually an answer to whether or not We've Come for You All is an urban legend. Apparently it's not.

Europe cd's get released on mondays, so that means the next day the US release of the album should hit stores.....unless they're gonna just put it out a few weeks afterwards which would be extremely weird.

I don't have Kazaa or anything to download Anthrax songs and honestly i've only heard the song they did with Public Enemy (i personally hated that song) but i would like to hear more of them. Could someone with Yahoo Messanger send me a file of a good song from them? I'm child_of_bodom48315 on yahoo.
Define talented on guitar. Scott Ian is among the best rhythm guitarists out there, if not (as is my opinion) the best, but they're not so much for lead guitar.

Refuse to be Denied, a version of Safe Home, Bare, and Black Lodge are all acoustic or near enough to it. As for impressive rhythm, take your pick.

Pieces is acoustic as well, although I wouldn't really call it an official song since it's a hidden track and Frank sings it.

I listened to most of those songs and I liked every one I heard. They sound WAY different than what I thought they would. I might have to purchase some albums. I'm thinking A Fist Full of Metal or Among the Living.

You mean you got the album awhile ago? The video is brand new.
Saw 'em live a few weeks ago, fucking amazing.
yeah, the album, my bad, heh. I saw them here with Motorhead, a while back, in March if I'm not mistaken, super-tight show.
I wonder what the video is like, Safe Home is pretty neat song, I like the track 'What Doesn't Die' better though. I hope they play some of the new stuff in Belgium.. anyways, yeah, kickass band, pretty descent latest release too!

Safe Home is cool because it stands on it's own. It sounds different for the band a bit, yet is still undeniably Anthrax through and through. The video is fucking great. Tons of footage of the band playing at HOB in Chicago. Then there's good 'ol Keanu Reeves running down a freeway.
Some would say I'm biased, but I really believe this is the best metal record of the year. Probably the best of the last 5 years.
I saw 'em a year ago with Judas Priest. John Bush held his mic up to me and I met Rob Caggiano, it was awesome. Unfortunately, Priest's set was boring as hell, except when Tim Owens was air-guitaring that was funny. I wanted to see 'em when they were touring with Motorhead but they weren't playing anywhere near me. I was really disappointed. When you guys saw 'em did they play A.I.R.? They didn't play it when I saw 'em and that's like my favorite Anthrax song.
well yeah, Safe Home is different from most of their stuff, but still it has the Anthrax twirl to it. I gotta see the video man, sounds good.
The album is really good, I agree till that far, calling it the best metal album the best of the last 5 years is taking it a bit far, but that pretty much boils down on personal preferences, I'm more into the heavier death metal and some hardcore, so it's not exactly way on top of my list.
Maybe it's going to be the best release of the year, who knows, the year ain't over yet, I like the album better then St. Anger, but I'm only getting into that album at the moment, however the producing on We've Come For You All is absolutely amazing, same goes for the (killer) tracks, enough diversity, powerfull shit too, a sure winner.
hell, how long have these guys been going, I remember an ex of my sister giving me a Anthrax cd to listen to, heh, its been ages ago, more then 5 years! it was an old album too, 'Make Me Laugh' or something??
he's the guy who got me into Anthrax and some heavier metal shit, great guy, my sister's been married for a while now, heh, another guy. dammit. hehe.

Yeah, they're fucking guardians of the old school. Been around 20 years at least, put Fistful of Metal out I believe in '84.
"Make me Laugh" was a track off State of Euphoria, and was also released as a single so that's probably what you had.
Kramer- I would've liked to see 'em play AIR too, that song is fucking killer. The set list the night I saw 'em was enough to sustain a woody for me though the entire night.
Yeah, it's a single!
hehe! that's the one I still got, I think it's dated '88 or something? heh, damn those guys are oldskool :) I don't have all their albums, but I got Among The Living, Spreading the Disease and We've Come For You All, 3 great cd's right there.
I haven't heard the other ones though, but I think I'll give them a listen someday soon, I've been buying shitloads of cd's lately, good discounts and stuff.
heh, look my 3000th post and it's about Anthrax, at least its not a waste!

SOE is a decent album, not great though. Probably Anthrax's weakest. If you're gonna pick up an older one other than the one's you've got get Persistence of Time and Sound of White Noise.
Of course, I can't discourage purchase of any Anthrax record, SOE rocks, just doesn't rock as much as it could've.
