Hi,

Well, I'm not familiar yet with Music Theory, but day to day I'm learning a little bit to extend my understanding. Right now I have a Problem... I want to start of my composition with the following chords: Cm7M, Ebm/5+, Ebm7M11/5+
First question would be what key can I use for my compostion?
And what scales do I use to improvise on those three chords?

Thanks for your help....

Further Tipp on what chords could follow would be great too...

For someone who doesn't know much theory, you seem to understand chords that an ignorant wouldn't know:idea:. Just use the notes in the chord. Chords are mostly root third fifth seventh, so add the notes in between.

As a guitarist I have to know all about chords, the problem is that I don't know how to use them when I write a composition.

So which key could I use that allows those chords to be used?

Technically answering your exact words, all of them. Maybe pick one that dissolves the most accidentals in your song. I doubt you're turning this in for a grade, and I doubt that anyone's going to really care if you write a song that doesn't have the perfect theory.

yea you could just pass em off as non scale tones ;)

either C melodic or harmonic since they start with maj/min chords and have a flat E. also you can use that in soloing too, but make sure to consider the colors that you are using so you dont get clashes. you can do that by playing the chords on the bottom end, that way the colors arent the same notes you are playing.
