Anyone been getting into this stuff as much as I have lately? I'm talking about bands like Liturgy, Goratory, Brodequin, GutRot, Psychofagist, Digested Flesh. Anyone here got any other reccomendations?

I would just like to note that I just picked up Goratory's "Rice On Suede" today. I was listening to the title track, holy fucking hell theres some talent behind every instrument here. Fucking hell those drums are fast.

Naw, power violence is like Punk interbred with grind, these bands are still straight up DM. Power Violence bands include:Spazz, StockHolm Syndrome, Capitalist Causualties, Iron Lung, and some others I can't think of right now.

Eh, recounts has some pretty sick grinds and blasts in it dude. They may not be hyper blast by volume, but they do have quite fast blasts when they do em.

Haha, I know what you mean, some people overcompartamentalize genres, Hyperblasting is kind of rare though, so I think it somewhat deserves its own subgenre of DM.

Yeah it is. tBDM is fucking boring, whereas GutRot are fucking grind blaster. The drummer is wasting his talent with tBDM, few drummers can stack up to what he played on "Incestual Rimjob" and "Cock Snot Covered Twat", or any of the songs for that matter.

Yeah he is a really tight drummer, and when I did the scratch tracks with him he didn't have to re-do anything. So all of the songs are one take played all the way thru with no errors. I think it's cool that he's out doing what he loves...touring.
i fucking LOVE BDM. nothing else to it, thats one of my favorite albums of the last year.

Despondency isnt fast at all compared to all the other bands listed. Despondency are more of a groove band. And Digested Flesh aint hyper blast at all, they're a Devourment clone, they're really not that fast.
And Zack, I consider to be a traitor to Gutrot, leaving a band for someone else who makes more money and is mainstream fairy tale story telling bull shit.. I hate that kind of death metal, stick to the real shit, shit about fucking people's mom, shitting on a victim as an act of degradation, and pure blood spilling slaughter.

Also, those bands may not be hyper blast by volume, but when they get fast, they get fucking fast.
