From what I understand, noisecore is grindcore but even sloppier, with feedback and more ouch.

Not unless it's structered noise, like grindcore ;)

Hell, yeah. I used to play the drums using bowls and boxes with pot covers as cymbals and spoons as drumsticks. Then I turned 8.

I also used to play an interesting instrument consisting of a saucer pot with an an elastic as a string. Then I grabbed a looser elastic, put it on a frying pan, and pretended it was a bass. Being poor ruled so hard back then.

Getting back on topic a bit, no. I don't like noisecore. I should record the sound my shit plopping into the toilet and make a song out of that. If those noise jackasses can make money off of aural sewage, I don't see why I can't.

i named alot of good bands in the "grind or noise" thread, i see the whole genre as something that is evolving in an early stage, from prior prototype bands that existed for 20 years or so, its definately no all shit, there are many good bands under the moniker of "noise" or "noisecore" that, you know, are not recycling slayer, seplatura and iron maiden riffs like alot of metal bands nowadays. so ill repeat myself and call into evidence the locust and meltbanana for starters, very complicated music, is played in a way that is repeatable, stuff i enjoy.

You're a fucking moron. No one makes money off of noise music, and majority of them are nicer than any fucktard in metal.

And Im talking about noise. Not noisecore. Not noise rock.

well if your talking about oscillators, noise machines, circut bending harsh noise, no i dont particularly find it enjoyable, some acts are interesting, i know some people who are good at the technological aspect of creating gizmos and rewiring shit to make sound from which was not originally intended, but the live show usually never translated well with the effort gone into the craft, i feel this stuff has to be applied to instrumentation, i do however like bastard noise<as well as man is the bastard stuff henry barnes did> and amps for christ, who are gods in that scene, mens recovery project is good also, but i guess that doesnt qualify coz its not 100% noise

there are alot of laptop noise artist nowadays which i absolutely loathe, just alot of laptop bands lately that water down the genre. i like the technical side of people who manipulate electronics as opposed to the noise itself

Bastard Noise is tight

I dont mean harsh noise only...really any kind...

How am I a fucking moron? You talked about banging pots and pans together, and then I proceeded to explain to you how I, in my childhood, would utilize them as instruments in a somewhat humorous manner. How exactly does that make me a moron? Perhaps you should learn how to spell 'definitely' before you accuse other people of being morons. Or, perhaps you should just work on your perceptive skills before you call somebody a moron for joking around with you about a relevant subject.

Dumbass.

I'm starting to like Merzbow(and noise in general) more and more lately.
Noise sounds to me like pure energy put in sound.
Hey CannibalXampire check Maldoror(Merzbow and Mike Patton),
great stuff

CannibalXampire
2005-04-01, 17:18
Merzbow is tight. Definatly a good place to start.

Yeah, that stuff Patton and Merz did together is really great.

If youre looking for energy in sound, check out Masonna.

I tried to get into noise a while back, but I could not just dig it. The farthest I will go is Helios Creed, and that band kicks serious ass. Some of Boris's stuff also, but, I prefer a "Wall of Riffs" than a "Wall Of Noise".

Heard some tracks, good(maybe even more than Merzbow)
but more chaotic.
Have you listened to Converter?
I'm downloading Blast Furnace now and it
sounds really good.Rhythm 'n Noise haha

CannibalXampire

I actually prefer Masonna's repetitive samesame stuff to Merzbow. Merzbows stuff just seems so mediocre at best for the most part because he just releases shit like its no big thing. I think I may have heard converter before, Im not sure though.

Check out The Gerogerigegege's Yellow Trash Bazooka. High energy chaos but a different sound than Masonna.

Hell yeah, I'm a big Merzbow fan as well as Gerogerigegege. I'm on a big Japan music trip right now I've been listening to everything that country has to offer. I'm loving every minute of it!

P.S. Get the "Japan Will Kick Your Ass" comp. It's great. If you have soulseek you can get it from me my name is under "cuntyshunt".

im not really sure what this "noise" genre is. ...yes, sounds very self explanitory, but then there is the fact that "noise" is a very broad term. im not being lazy, cause i would just look some up if i didnt have dailup for the remainder of the night.

CannibalXampire

Noise is music without pitch, rhythm, beats, etc.

"Noise music is loosely related to industrial music, sharing its DIY ethos, independence and ethic of using "non-musical" sources. Often described as "punishing and abrasive" by those with a flair for the dramatic, Noise music can be very loud and dissonant, ranging from the free-form extreme electronic music of Merzbow and Masonna to the more sculptured sounds of Boyd Rice and Black Leather Jesus, to the cold haiku sound-scapes of Ryoji Ikeda and Sachiko M."-from wikipedia

Pure, 100% emotion, undeformed by such things as regards to technique, melody, etc.
