Hi folks!
I want to work on my right hand technique. Where do you have to place the palm of your hand? And what about the righthand fingers? I always place my palm on the bridge, but I've read that the best thing to do is letting the hand in the air. There's also too much tension in my right hand........ Which hand(and fingers)position is the best?
thanks in advance!
Hey Ramón! que passo caraccho?
I think most people prefer letting their hand rest on the bridge, it really depends on what you're playing. for faster stuff I notice that I usually lift up my hand a bit and lean on my pinky (I think you've seen me do that, right?) Its something my teacher told me because I allways got cramps if I did leave my palm on the bridge.
if you want to play fast stuff, there's allways tension but I think the key is not to tense up too much, I usually get cramps if I do that. just be sure to have a good grip on the pic and to be 'loose' in the picking movement.
that's all I can tell you but I'm sure someone else here can explain this a lot better. ;)

I just place the side of my palm mute hand as close to the bridge as possible. As far as the right hand, just use enough hold for chords and note playing to work, but try to comfort your right hand so you don't injure it in an odd way.

I dig my palm into the bridge/strings for a chunky muting sound. Just find a spot that works for you. For fast triplets, DON'T use your forearm muscles...BARELY if any, use your wrist. Try to get in the habbit of using your thumb and index finger muscles.
