anyone else heard it yet? I just got it and I'm listening to it now, I'll get more in depth with my analysis soon but for now I can say the guitar tone and overall producing is much better. and ofcourse the vocals but we allready knew that ;)

They played about an hour away from my house and I missed it (August) :kaioken: :kaioken: :kaioken: Well, this is new york so they'll probably come back. How does the vocalist sound on that album?- Bush from Armored Saint right? Someone told me that their music is more mainstream rock now, but I cant judge it myself since i havent heard it.

You haven't paid any attention to Anthrax since Persistance of Time, have you? They don't sound like mainstream rock (you might not like how they sound, and you can't really call them thrash anymore, but they've yet to drastically change their sound), Bush doesn't sound like somebody stepped on his nuts during recording, and this is not a recording of new songs. The Greater of Two Evils is the re-recording of various classics (determined by on online poll, not including the classics that are covers) live in the studio. Basically, it's old Anthrax with better production, much better leads, improved drumming, and Joey's very much not on vocals.
It comes out today.
I knew I had to get it after hearing the first mp3's. good shit.
the store just had it in today, guess I was lucky! if you're fast you'll be able to get the limited edition, the booklet looks kickass.
hold, I'll get pics. they allways have cool artwork anyways.

You hit the nail on the head, I have everything from Fistful to Persistance, then I stopped buying their albums. I will definately buy the greater of two evils tho.

hrm, Ill probably buy those two (newest ones) next time i take a trip to bestbuy, i'll end up buying all the rest albums I dont have anyway, since i have half of them anyways and love them all. You can never have too much Anthrax.
Agreed.
I hope they're touring here again next summer, their live shows are neat.
His voice reminds me of the singer from Disturbed, exspecially in that safe home song

Bush doesn't really sound like he did in Armored Saint. I mean, it's recognizable as the same person, but his voice has gotten deeper and raspier with age. I can't say if he sounds like the singer from Disturbed, since I have no idea what the singer from Disturbed sounds like, but I doubt it. Actually, I just put on some Armored Saint, and it's just lower, and it's pretty clear he's no longer in a band from the 80's.
Basically: if you're expecting straight up thrash, expect to be disappointed. It's still recognizably Anthrax. Bush is still recognizably Bush. There's no guarantee you'll like it like I still do, but you should at least like a heavier recording of some of their thrash heyday classics. Which should probably influence them to be thrashier on their next record (and they were thrashier on their last one than the one previous, which is something of an oddball record in their catalogue. I really like it, but it's odd.), and so on.

Damn vocalists and their vocal matures. The only one I ever liked was Mille Petrozza.
He has that annoying whine to his voice. Fucking hate it, plus the fact that Anthrax's msuci sucks ass now dosent help. And since Frank Bello left their's really no reason for me to listen to boring ass riffs withy a singer i absolutly hate... ive hated him ever since armored saint.
that's your opinion, but I wouldn't say Anthrax's music sucks ass now. have you actually listened the whole album
Not in one sitting but ive heard atleast 3/4 of the album.. none of the songs stuck out all boring riffs that do nothing for me.
And of course its my opinion.. who elses would it be? :p
durrr some dumbass bum on the corner of the street? :)
oh wait, that's your dad!
anyways, if you haven't listened to it completely don't bother to comment on it, seriously theres plenty of harder songs on WCFYA all too, What Doesn't Die is a nice opener, WCFYA itself is a nice song and 'black dahlia' is a neat song. I wouldn't call the riffs in them boring at all, especially not if you compare it to their older work!!!

Most Likely.. im a bastard :bawling:
What dosent die sucks.. completly lame riffs something papa roach would play. Thier old stuff was much better. I despise them now.. seems like im the only one here with enough balls to say it though cause i know im not the only one who cant stand WCFYA. The good thing on WCFYA is the cover art which is done by Alex Ross

ah man, you can't compare them to pappa friggin roach!
the cover art is cool, yeah. the new thing has a cool ass cover too (see pics) its done by the guys from www.obeygiant.com
it doesn't take balls to say an album sucks, its just an opinion, it's different then their older work, agreed. But I really like the album though its not really the same as anthrax was back in the day. Then that makes another question rise, could they even be the same as back in the day? look what happend to metallicunt. I like Kill 'em All too, but thats basically it. Anthrax still makes music I can enjoy, the new 'cover' album is just a nice addition, with way better guitar tone, production, drums and vocals too.
Guess my favorite song to play by them is still Death From Above. I love that song. And ofcourse all the other classics.

Its a Madhouse!!! Love that song.
I got it, and overall it's pretty good, but the one track I was really looking forward to, being Deathrider, really dissapointed me. THey grooved up the verse so much that it tok the thrash out of it. The rest of the song's alright, but shit, the verse is like moshing in fucking quicksand.

I listened to it today and it was good, the vocals were alright, it's just never gonna beat the old days with Injun Joe :(
