Corroded...:panyone can sing and play Death at the same time. His vocal line doesn't go in the flow of the music because he has trouble thinking 2 things at once. So he sings whenever he's playing either the beginning or the end of a riff. Scavenger, Spirit crusher, and bite the pain show this a lot.

Corpsegrinder can screech, but I know what you're saying. Chuck definitely went further and further in that direction as he went on, and he could never do a balls-low death growl, but I still think it describes his vocals better than the other options. Screech, on that list of bands is Dissection. And maybe Moonspell; I don't know them.

I think, ultimately, powers is a picky vocalist with standards so high even the internet can't meet them. Which is as it should be.

It's has been pretty cold and very windy last few days and on some places it's snowing like crazy. There hasn't been any snowing here where I live thoug. Yesterday the roof went of some factory because it was so god damn windy. There where a few car accidents because of frost on the road. Just one sirious thoug. Also everyone are going crazy because of those stupid teachers. I should go poke them with a stik or somthing :uzi: Yesterday some sheephouse chaught fire and like 500 sheeps burned inside. That should be fun to clean up :rolleyes: The electrisity went out in Höfn yesterday. Woah, I just realised a lot of shit happend yesterday :eek: :smash:

same here although i want to move to norway(where my ancestors came from) im slowly learning good ol norsk on my own but im planning on joing the military and becoming a translator for norwegian, probably one of the best ways to learn the language then theyll most likly send me there too, i love america but im so fed up with it i wanna leave...
i have read some of the eddas, good stuff hes is one of the best translations of it, i also suggest getting "the sagas of the icelanders" its like 800+ pages of sagas and stuff but its only like 20-30$ :beer:

I haven't read edda but I have read many short parts from it. It is writen Snorri Sturluson, you didn't butcher it ;) I haven't really read that much of the icelandic stories. I've read much about Grettir and like parts from other stuff. And hell no I haven't decided what to do with my life, I'm only in 8th grade :p

As for Korn being death metal, they are. In a parallel universe (of which there are an infinite number). Somewhere down the line, Korn made a decision to play nu-metal over death metal - the reverse of this decision is acted out in the parallel universe. The odds are slimmer than Nicole Kidman after discovering bullimia, but there may even be a parallel universe where they are particularly well-respected exponents of death metal. True, but it's pretty easy to tell, in you own writing, when an influence is shining too strong, especially if it's a very strong influence to begin with. It's pretty easy, if you're writing seriously and not just putting down every riff that comes to mind, to cull out the good from the obvious. In any case, there's a huge difference between a rip off and riffs with a strong influence. Crowbar does nothing to hide its Black Sabbath influence, but I'd be hard pressed to find a riff there I'd consider a rip off of Iommi. Don't worry to much if a riff sounds like it has an influence from somebody else; worry if it sounds like a riff that somebody else discarded. Or even one that person used. 'Influence' still sounds like you; 'rip off' sounds like somebody else.

My friend's dad was tellin' him when he was in school and they had gym, him and his friends would bring in boots and have a boot fight. They'd put one boot on there hand and hold the other one. Then they'd go in to the locker room and turn out the lights and start wanderin' around with the arm with the boot on it out in front. As soon as they felt somethin' WHAM!!!!
