I like playing pantera more, but slayer just go shitfast, whereas dime goes for a more comfortable playing approach.

I enjoy playing along with the Cowboys from Hell album. Other then that I find Slayer to be more technical and fast. Thats the sort of thing I enjoy more, so I find myself playing more Slayer then Pantera. :stoned:

haha, hanneman rules!
i once had respect for king....
Is it just me or are Kings solos (seasons in the abyss) just him knocking fuck outta his whammy bar on random frets?
Dime rules, his solos are cool, i love playing CFH and Shattered!

I don't have anything of Pantera, and of Slayer i have all.
Slayer is quite cool to play, not that I play it much.
Spirits in Black & skeletons of society are the 2 songs i play very often, they are so cool to play!!

speed is nice, but i wouldnt sacrifice feel for it...you dont necessarily need speed in a song...but feel well, if theres no feel, ITS NOT MUSIC:P
Slayer isn't all speed without feeling.....and not all of pantera's songs have much feeling.
I'd say the best example for Slayer would be the song "213". If you don't get any "feelings" or "emotions" out of that song, good or bad, then uh, you get my point.

i didnt say slayer was feel-less...or that pantera was feel-full
actually, i havent listened to pantera since i was in grade 3...im in college now so i dont remember how they sound:P
but id prefer playing slayer to pantera:)

I get nothing from 213 at all...
I get some emotion from stuff off of GHUA, but that's about it for me.
I get a lot from 213......not sure what it is, but it mainly makes me crazy and insane.

pantera cuz slayer is too hard.
Pantera, CFH album and Vulgar Display of Power are fun to play on bass.

I like playing them both. They are my top two favorite bands. I guess for reasons of convenience, id have to say Slayer. Just cause they stay in Eb on all their earlier albums. But as far as power, id have to say that i like to play Pantera songs more. So basically they kinda even out for me.

Yeah he has speed he just runs up and down scales going on kinda random frets. He said so himself in Guitar Worlda while ago.
Anyhow I love playing Pantera. Slayer's fun but Pantera just has groove that is awesome to play. Plus Dimebag can do perfectly what 2 guitarists can't.

slayer is fun to play, but cemetary gates is pretty cool to play too
Slayer damnit. Nothing Dime does compares to that breakdown riff in "Angel of Death" or the begining of "Raining Blood". I always like when people say SLayer is to hard, it makes me feel like I'm good.

SLAYER!!!!!!!
Nigromante

both bands kick ass! but i prefer Slayer because of tunning way. :smash: :flame:
Slayer's fun to play straight through......but Pantera has a couple cool licks here and there.
All in all though, Slayer takes the cake.
Pantera
i haven't heard alot of Slayer songs, but i don't think they have the groovy blues-metal riffs that Dimebag delivers:
By Demons Be Driven verse
The Greatern Southern Trendkill (after the last chorus)
Drag The Waters
Revolution Is My Name solo
No Good (Attack A Radical)
to name a few
i like playing thrash metal, but not as much as groovy riffs with pinch harmonics.
i like the blues.
