Ah, das stimmt ja.
They are big in Finland and Germany and Eastern Europe generally.
But here in Norway, perhaps one out of 6000 have heard the band, at least it was so when I discovered them. Their new album isn't much to shout hooray for, anyway...
I was really disappointed when I heard it.
But Razorblade Romance is an exellent album, and I don't care whether people don't like them because they sell lots of albums.
(HIM=Heavy Intimate Metal)
The album is, by the way, a killer in the background when having sex....:D
Chicks love it.

3.Immortal-Battles in the north
4.Antaeus-Cut your flesh and worship Satan

its true that alot of sabbath songs have "groove" and arent that heavy. i think ozzy's voice tones it down alot. as for riffs, i prefer the intro to lord of this world and into the void

Heavy metal is more than sound, it's an attitude. An attitude in which Sabbath had mastered perfectly.

They had afro's and leather clothes, attitude is not a fundamental of metal
its the sound and the rejection from people who can't tolerate heavy music

How can you say sabbath is not heavy? Sabbath was the first metal band! you definitely must have missed all thier good tracks, such as: Into the Void, Electric Funeral, Lord of this world, and countless other classic HEAVY songs. either that or you've been tricked into listening to Dio sabbath, hahaha.

So for christ's sake shut the hell up unless your posting albums!

stop at nothing is a great cd, not quite as good as destroy the opposition, but its pretty close. killing on adrenaline is a good cd, the quality of the recording isn't as good but it's not terrible either. you should get them both but if i had to recomend one, i would have to say stop at nothing.

'tis a 'ard 'un........
in my humble opinion.
Black Sabbath - Master of Reality.
- This album is the thesis of metal. Heavy, anti-authority, and drugs. What more can I say.
PanterA - The great Southern Trendkill.
- I was going to say "vulgar" but i thought about it. This album possesses the hate, angst and aggression of metal. To a motherfuckin T.
MetallicA - Ride the Lightning.
- An album that encompasses the ideals of most heavy metal bands. The portrayel of the flirtation with death, The classic instrumental, which portrays emotion better than any lyric or voice, and of course.......the thrash.
Mega Deth - Rust in Peace.
Though Dave's singing resembles a cat drowning (wait a minute.......doesn't all metal resemble.....I'll stop while i'm ahead)....The guitar is Metal packaged, and shipped. Just listen to the solos.
Ozzy Osbourne - Blizzard of Ozz.
- The innovations of Randy rhoads prove my pick. This is metal to the mellow. With such classical attempts as "Dee" and "revelation", It shows a happy side to metal.
note: These picks at metal portray "the best" as in the most (newer) influentual to the genre. If i were to pick the best heavy metal, i would choose bands that half of you believe only your parents listen to. My actual list or Musicians is:
Eric Clapton: Early music. With cream and the yardbirds, this fucker paved the way of metal. With early classics such as "sunshine of your love" and "layla", he helped music progress massively.
Jimi Henrix: Well pretty much everything.
I know, all of the new "metalheads" believe that hendrix is not actually that great. But that fucker was the most innovative fucker for the history of music.
Led Zepplin: Name the album.
Just listen to Jimmy Page play a song live.
Bob marley: Before you critisize me, that bob marley isn't anywhere near metal, i'd like to point out that bob marley is the spirit in every metal song. He is the anger that you feel against organized governments, against your conformed peers, angainst everything that is not utopia. bob marley is the spirit that is not hate, in metal (think about it)
Black Sabbath: The first commercial "heavy metal" band. The fuckers whailed but their credit is due elsewhere.
and lastley and sadly steppinwolf. This band is actually one of the most influentual to heavy metal, due to the fact that they where the first to coin the term "heavy metal" in their hit "born to be wild"....("heavy metal thunder"). Sadly to say....hah..
Tis a diff'rent choice.
